In Of Sound Mind, Nina Kraus examines the partnership of sound and brain, showing for the first time that the processing of sound drives many of the brain's core functions. Our hearing is always on--we can't close our ears the way we close our eyes--and yet we can ignore sounds that are unimportant. We don't just hear; we engage with sounds. Kraus explores what goes on in our brains when we hear a word--or a chord, or a meow, or a screech.
Our hearing brain, Kraus tells us, is vast. It interacts with what we know, with our emotions, with how we think, with our movements, and with our other senses. Auditory neurons make calculations at one-thousandth of a second; hearing is the speediest of our senses. Sound plays an unrecognized role in both healthy and hurting brains. Kraus explores the power of music for healing as well as the destructive power of noise on the nervous system. She traces what happens in the brain when we speak another language, have a language disorder, experience rhythm, listen to birdsong, or suffer a concussion. These pillows perform wonderfully and they hold up!

I have had these pillows for 5 years, so mine is not in brand new condition in this photo but they still appear pretty good and function wonderfully. I recommend these to others looking for a soft but supportive pillow. They are the standard microfiber cooling ones. I have one and my daughter (7) has the other. We use them every night and they are just the perfect amount of medium-softness for both of us despite us being very different in size! Still fluff back up, have just enough support and height or thickness in my opinion (I don’t like very firm microfiber pillows as much, and I don’t like the feather pillows that aren’t goose down because they get crunchy and flat). Love these pillows, the price is super reasonable for the product they provide. They have held up this long, I’d say they are of good quality. I’ve just ordered another set for a visit to my mothers house! Our favorite pillows!

Super Comfortable and Easy to Sleep On

HIMOON Shredded Memory Foam Pillows are honestly way more comfortable than I expected—they’re soft but still supportive, and I like that I can adjust and fluff them to fit how I sleep. They feel good for both side and back sleeping, and they don’t go flat like some cheaper pillows I’ve tried. After using them for a while, they’ve held up well and still feel cozy every night. Overall, just a really comfortable, no-stress pillow that makes it easy to fall asleep 👍

Good pillows; wear a mask when fluffing and airing out

Searched everywhere for comfortable pillows, finally found this set. Perfect density and firmness, very comfortable. Downside is that they were covered in some type of white powder which dispersed as I was fluffing them up. Fiberglass, maybe? I recommend customers fluff and air them outside before use, and wear a mask. Pillows had an industrial smell, which dissipated after 20 minutes in the fresh air.

Great pillows

These are absolutely great and them being cooling pillows is a big plus for someone who has hot flashes at night. They are very comfortable and they are great support for any position sleeper. These pillows are durable and the material comfortable and soft.
