Streamline multi-server management with a compact, space-saving solution that blends a 17" LCD KVM console, full-size keyboard, touchpad, and an integrated 8-port KVM switch into a single bundle. The IOGEAR GCL138 Network Accessory Kit is designed for data centers, server rooms, and remote offices where footprint and reliability matter. This kit brings together essential tools for efficient IT administration: a high-quality LCD panel for local monitoring, a responsive keyboard and touchpad for precise control, and an 8-port KVM switch that enables quick switching between up to eight servers from one centralized console. With its streamlined design and practical features, the GCL138 helps administrators save rack space, reduce cable clutter, and accelerate routine maintenance, firmware updates, and troubleshooting tasks across heterogeneous server environments.

Designed for versatility, the GCL138 network accessory kit supports hands-on, real-time access to servers while keeping the operator’s desk or rack area neat and organized. The 17" LCD offers a generous display for clear, readable output, while the integrated keyboard and touchpad deliver a familiar, efficient user experience. This combination is ideal for IT professionals who need reliable, on-site control without juggling separate components or sacrificing performance. The Space-saving form factor means you can mount and deploy in dense racks, small data closets, or office suites, making it a practical choice for growing IT infrastructures that demand scalable management without compromise.

  • All-in-one KVM console: Combines a 17" LCD monitor, full-size keyboard, and precise touchpad into a single, compact unit for streamlined configuration and operation.
  • 8-port KVM switch: Manage up to eight servers from one console, enabling rapid switching between connected systems to speed up maintenance, monitoring, and provisioning tasks.
  • Space-saving design: The integrated bundle reduces cabling, keeps racks tidy, and frees up valuable floor space in crowded data centers and IT closets.
  • Ideal for multi-server environments: Perfect for IT departments that require centralized control, quick diagnostics, and efficient server management across multiple racks or rooms.
  • Versatile deployment options: Suitable for rack-mount or desktop configurations, with flexible cabling and ergonomic viewing angles to suit diverse installation scenarios.

How to Install IOGEAR GCL138 Network Accessory Kit

  • Unpack the kit and verify that all components are present: the 17" LCD KVM console, the 8-port KVM switch, mounting hardware, and any included cables or adapters.
  • Determine the installation location: choose a dry, well-ventilated area with easy access for maintenance and cable routing. Decide whether the setup will be rack-mounted or placed on a workstation desk.
  • Mount the console securely: if you are using a rack, attach the console to the rack using the supplied hardware, ensuring the unit is firmly seated and accessible for operators. If mounting on a desk or in a cabinet, position the console for comfortable viewing and typing.
  • Connect servers to the KVM switch: using the appropriate video, USB keyboard/mouse, and any required server cables, connect each server to one of the 8 ports on the KVM switch. Adhere to labeling guidelines to avoid misassignment during operation.
  • Power on and test: connect the power supply to the console and to the servers if required by your setup. Power up the servers, then power on the KVM console. Verify video output and input device responsiveness across all connected servers.
  • Configure switching methods: utilize hotkeys or physical push-buttons on the console to switch between servers. Ensure the KVM switch recognizes each connected server, and adjust display and input settings as needed for optimal performance.
  • Fine-tune display and ergonomics: adjust the LCD brightness, contrast, and color settings for legibility in your environment. Position the keyboard and touchpad for comfortable use during extended management sessions.
  • Document mappings and best practices: label each server port, document the switch sequence, and create a standard operating procedure (SOP) for common tasks such as reboots, BIOS access, and remote management workflows.
  • Perform a final validation: run through typical administration tasks—monitoring, console access, and server reboots—to ensure consistent behavior across all eight ports before handing the setup to production operations.

Frequently asked questions

  • How many servers can I manage with the GCL138 kit? The kit is designed to manage up to eight servers from a single 17" LCD KVM console, allowing centralized control and simplified workflows across a multi-server environment.
  • What makes the GCL138 different from other KVM solutions? This kit combines an integrated LCD, keyboard, and touchpad with an 8-port KVM switch in one compact bundle, delivering space savings and streamlined management that is ideal for data centers, server rooms, and remote office deployments.
  • Is this kit suitable for rack-mount installations? Yes. The design supports rack-mount as well as desktop deployments, providing flexible options to fit your data center or IT closet configuration.

  • Do I need additional cables to use this kit? The kit is designed to work as a bundled solution; however, depending on your existing cabling and port configurations, you may need additional USB, HDMI/DisplayPort, or video cables to connect each server to the KVM switch. Always verify your installation requirements with the product documentation and bundle contents for your specific order.
  • Can I upgrade or expand the kit later? The 8-port KVM design supports management of up to eight connected servers, and you can expand your infrastructure by adding more control points or additional KVM hardware as your environment grows. For larger deployments, consider additional KVM solutions within the same family to maintain consistency.
  • Is the GCL138 compatible with different operating systems? KVM consoles and switches are designed to support a broad range of operating systems commonly used in data centers and enterprise environments. The key requirement is compatible video output and standard USB keyboard/mouse input; specific OS features are not dependent on the console itself.

An immature take on Peter Parker only suitable for the most immature reader
Format: Kindle
Someday, Marvel Comics won't be controlled by white male Boomers/GenXers who make Peter Pan look well adjusted and who incessantly try to recapture a childhood that never actually existed while believing women have cooties and adult relationships are icky. But until then, we get Amazing Spider-Man by Joe Kelly, whose writing is the living embodiment of the Steve Buscemi "How do you do, my fellow kids" meme. This run is boring, trite and cliched. You could probably get a more insightful and original story by asking ChatGPT to write one for you. The only thing going for the run - so far - is that Kelly at least isn't outright aggressively antagonizing the reader unlike the previous writer. It's just...bland and mediocre.

Fantasy
Format: Kindle
It was basically two stories in one book. One was about Logan's encounter with Flower Cartel. He was sent on a mission to find out who was or were stealing Kratoan flowers. He didn't catch whodunit. But I am sure that he will find out some more about Flower Cartel later on ... Two was about vampires up to no good when it concerned mutants. When Omega Red came in on the island looking badly injured, it was reported to Logan. He thought that Omega Red was up to something and decided to investigate. He found vampires and their "master" but he still didn't know what they were up to. However, he did have some idea what Omega Red did. It ended with him not knowing of a bargain Omega Red made with the master. I am sure that Logan will find out what they are planning for him and his friends later on ...

This gets five stars because it was so good to have Logan back. Percy and Kubert are just crushing it on this book. Omega Red has never been more sinister. Paris! Vampires! Hell yeah!
