The curated perfection of everyone else's highlight reel can make your own messy, beautiful life feel inadequate. But what if you could see it differently? Optimism was made to help you shift the lens, to find the light even in the ordinary chaos. It's a gentle nudge toward believing that good things are not just possible. They're already unfolding. Let the bright notes of bergamot and guava lift your spirits, and let this flame be proof that your story is still being written, and the best chapters are ahead.

THE SCENT

BUILT ON SCIENCE-BACKED AROMACHOLOGY

Scent reaches the brain's emotional center before language does, which is why a fragrance can shift how you feel, not just how a room smells. We blend every candle with that in mind.

  • Top notes: Lush Palm, Kombucha Tea, Bergamot
  • Heart notes: Pink Guava, Island Orchid, Plumeria Dew
  • Base notes: Palm Wood, Cypress, Vetiver

THE AROMACHOLOGY

WHY THIS SCENT WORKS

Bergamot is one of the most clinically supported mood-regulating scents in Aromachology research, shown to lower cortisol, ease anxiety, and stimulate a measurable sense of positivity within minutes of inhalation. Tropical notes like guava and plumeria are associated with heightened sensory pleasure and a broadening of emotional perspective, the kind of shift that makes what felt heavy feel, briefly, lighter. Palm wood and vetiver in the base provide grounding depth, preventing the brightness of the top notes from tipping into restlessness. Together, this blend creates a scent environment that gently disrupts the comparison spiral and brings you back to your own story.

THE CRYSTAL

YOUR INTENTION, MADE PHYSICAL

Set into the base of every Optimism candle, beneath the wax, is a genuine citrine, long called the Stone of Joy. You won't see it while it burns. It rests at the foundation the whole time, warm and waiting, and is revealed only once the candle has burned all the way down. We won't claim it dissolves comparison or self-doubt. Think of it as the bright thing at the bottom, a small reminder that good things were unfolding the whole time, even on the days you couldn't see them yet.

THE VESSEL

COLOR PSYCHOLOGY + SIGHT

Optimism lives in a matte peach vessel. In color psychology, peach blends the nurturing comfort of pink with the energizing lift of orange, creating a hue that feels like an emotional embrace. It's associated with self-acceptance and softening the sharp edges of comparison. The matte texture turns that warmth into something approachable and grounding, a visual affirmation that you are allowed to feel good about where you are right now.

THE EXTRAS

Included with every candle is a complimentary set of matches and a blank intention card, shaped like a little coaster to rest beneath your candle. Write down a thought you want to carry, a reminder, an intention, a single word, and tuck it under the flame. While the candle burns above it and the crystal waits sealed at the base, your intention stays close, a quiet anchor for whatever you are reaching for.

What an amazing resource on Asset Management
Format: Kindle
I found the book to be full of great ideas on managing the Asset and Property Manager. I will definitely be a companion as I continue to grow in this space. I would have given the book five stars; however, many of the links to the websites are no longer working. As a takeaway, I reached out to Gary and he shared the link to a Google Drive.

great resource for high school parents
Format: Paperback
A terrific book -- on many levels. It is, first, a series of excellent suspense stories, with vivid characterizations of the students seeking admission to Wesleyan. The author found some fascinating students to follow, with the result that the reader really cares what happens to them. Even more important -- especially to someone about to embark on the college hunt -- he provides an invaluable insight into how the admissions process works. The admissions game, I now realize thanks to this splendid tale, is a crazy-quilt mixture: at Wesleyan, at least, the process focuses on the individual, quirks and all, far more than I imagined. At the same time, the process comes off as frighteningly random -- with so much depending on which admissions officer reads the application, and what that person focuses on in the few minutes available. The book is also a vivid reminder that admissions officers are people, too -- people of infinite variety. So it was a pleasure to read -- and it will also prove immensely useful to parents. One common theme kept repeating: take the hard courses, even if it means lower grades. Another: having a passion is a real plus, but the rest of the record can't be a disaster. But those are just the beginning.
