Power Through Nail-Embedded Lumber with Diablo’s High-Performance Deep-Reach Auger Bit

Dominate the most demanding wood-drilling tasks with the Diablo DAG3090 7/8-Inch x 17-1/2-Inch Auger Bit. Specifically engineered for heavy-duty construction and renovation, this industrial-grade bit is built to tackle nail-embedded wood without breaking a sweat. Featuring a specialized two-step cutting action, it creates exceptionally precise, clean holes that are perfect for running electrical wire, plumbing, or heavy-duty lag bolts through thick framing. Whether you are a professional contractor or a timber framer, this bit provides the extreme durability and superior service life required for high-torque applications.

The Diablo DAG3090 is packed with innovative features to maximize your productivity on the job site. The self-feeding Dura-Tip™ automatically pulls the bit into the material, while the dual cutting edge design delivers an effortless, smooth drilling experience even when encountering hidden fasteners. The bit’s deep-flute geometry facilitates rapid chip evacuation, preventing heat buildup and allowing for more holes per battery charge in cordless tools. Equipped with a 7/16-inch hex quick-change shank, this bit ensures maximum stability and zero slipping in cordless or corded impact wrenches and high-torque drill drivers.

Key Features

  • Two-step cutting action produces precise, clean holes in all wood drilling applications.
  • Dura-Tip™ technology provides extreme durability and long-lasting performance in nail-embedded lumber.
  • Dual cutting edge design ensures effortless, smooth drilling through difficult grain and metal fasteners.
  • Deep-flute engineering enables fast chip removal and cooler operation for increased efficiency.
  • 7/16-inch hex quick-change shank offers superior stability in both corded and cordless impact drivers.
  • Reinforced bit spine provides added strength to resist breakage in high-torque heavy drilling.
  • Rust-resistant finish protects the bit from corrosion during outdoor job site use.

Pro-Tip

When drilling deep holes through multiple studs or thick headers, avoid the temptation to "push" the bit. The self-feeding Dura-Tip™ is designed to pull the bit through the material for you. Simply maintain a steady speed and let the bit do the work. To prevent stalling, occasionally pull the bit partially back while it is still spinning to help clear any packed sawdust from the extra-deep flutes, especially when working in green or pressure-treated lumber.

Great photo essay, history of aviation and space
i'm an engineer- worked rocket motors, and various satellite programs. this book was recommended by associate after visiting the museum at Langley. The pics are super, with short descriptions, and moderate on the tech. It's an amazing pulse of this wild history, and mostly is from America's lineage. St. Louis, Mercury, Atlas, and up to current Shuttle. There's also the SST, and unique turn of the century early birds. A fine read to be shared with a youngster (my son 10, digs it), or for the history or engineering buff. amazon has it cheaper than at the museum.

Essential reading for PowerPoint presenters.
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
Cliff shows details how to improve our PowerPoint presentations. He gives concrete and simple steps to transform a message into a targeted presentation. All of us have suffered from presenters who went over their allotted time because they had vital information to give us, yet we still didn't know their main point. Many have seen slide decks burdened with dozens of bullet points. Did the volume of points yield more clarity or did they dull our ability to focus on the message? Probably not. Read Cliff's book. Follow his method and you'll be a more effective presenter.

Useful with some scientific corroboration
Format: Paperback
Worth it as a primer to slide content and how it inter-relates to the delivery when giving a presentation. Very slightly laboured, like most TV documentaries nowadays - you feel they could move a bit faster (...yeah we got it the first time).

Simple and streamlined to meet anyone's needs
Format: Paperback
This book rocks! It provide a simple and structured way to define, develop and deliver a "Kick Ass" presentation that you can project or just use from the podium. It bring the audio and visual together to compliment a story to be shared. It has taken the hassel factor out of designing a presentation for anyone on any subject. Thank you!

Lasting value but degraded presentation
Format: Paperback
I've been a BBP fan since the first edition in 2005. The second edition in 2007 was a significant update and refinement. The latest, 2011 edition, is not worth buying if you already have the second edition -- the information is essentially the same but the 2011 is printed on cheap paper and the contrast between text and background for most of the illustrations is lousy, e.g. black text on a dark grey background, white text on a light grey background. I found it very difficult to read. The online version (O'Reilly Safari Books OnLine) is slightly better because it allows you to magnify the low contrast images which makes them slightly more legible. Thankfully, access to the online version is included with the ink-on-paper book free via a scratch-off, lottery ticket-type insert at the back of the book. If I had to do it again, I'd skip the paper book from Amazon and just purchase electronic access via O'Reilly. This version is more legible and you can print important pages that you might want hard copies of to highlight, mark-up, etc.
