Members of the Echinacea genus contain polysaccharides, alkylamides, polyenes and glycosides that promote the optimal function of the immune system.
Several studies suggest that echinacea contains active substances that enhance the activity of the immune system and have antioxidant activity.
Goldenseal root contains the powerful alkaloids berberine and hydrastine.

WHY OUR ECHINACEA/GOLDENSEAL?

Our echinacea grows between the Black and Baltic seas where it is carefully harvested at the peak time: when at least 60% of plants are in bloom. Fair pricing contracts with local growers encourage long-term production and high-quality yields. Our echinacea is free from pesticides and is non-GMO, Kosher and Halal certified. Our Canada-grown goldenseal is too!

THE STORY BEHIND ECHINACEA/ GOLDENSEAL

Centuries ago, Native Americans turned to the healing power of echinacea, using it traditionally for colds, coughs, sore throats and pain. More recently, herbal practitioners have embraced echinacea to support the body’s natural defenses. After it became the most popular herbal remedy in the US in the early 1900s, echinacea’s cultivation spread to Europe. Named after the Greek ekhinos, meaning hedgehog (for its spiky, conical head), echinacea rose to immune system superstardom in the herbal revival of the 1970s.

But only in the last few decades have we discovered the many constituents that power this amazing plant’s benefits. Today fields of pink and purple coneflowers can be found throughout the US and Canada.

Native Americans traditionally used goldenseal to support the mucous membranes of the respiratory, digestive and urinary tracts. Herbalists of the early 20th century considered it a critical herb for stomach and intestinal issues.

RECOMMENDED USE

Take 2 capsules with a meal three times daily. 

NOTE: Pregnant or lactating women should not take products that contain goldenseal.

Essential kit for those with fetch dogs

Now in our 3rd year, my Brittany and I are down to about 40 fetch tosses a day, some 14,600 tosses a year. The Chuck It launcher wears well, so, figure at least 5 years of use, for 73,000 tosses. That makes for a terrific value! There are several key benefits of the Chuck It launchers: One is that you can chuck the ball further than you can throw, which allows you to exercise your dog more easily. The second is that you can pick up and launch the ball without touching it, which means NO slime! And, the Chuck It also gives extra reach when you have to retrieve a ball from sticker brambles. Those are great features for anyone with a fetch dog. If you also happen to have a weak arm or shoulder, the Chuck It launchers provide nice throwing options. I generally throw underhanded. I can't get the full potential range, that way, but, I still get good, long tosses. I curl my second finger above the last bump on the handle, and use a good wrist flick along with arm swing. I've seen others throw side-arm with the Chuck It. I had originally written a second review for the longer 25M Chuck It. Either I, or Amazon messed up, and it looks like I can have only this one review. So, here are my additional thoughts on the 25M: I bought the 25M so that I could throw the ball even further! The good news is, you really can chuck further, with the longer chucker. The bad news is, those longer throws do require more arm and shoulder strength than when using the 18M. This becomes more obvious when you've done 3 or 4 dozen throws. I would recommend the 25M only for those with the youth and/or strength to get the most out of it. Otherwise, I'd say, go with the 18M.

My Niece dog loves it!

This ball launcher takes a bit of getting. used to, but it is really helpful for those of us who are not MLB pitchers! The launcher itself is a sturdy plastic that is not brittle yet not soft; when the ball is launched there is no destructive bending in the shaft. The handle is padded and ergonomically sound while the cup end cradles the ball but has cut-outs on each side for easy loading and unloading of the ball. It did take a bit of practice for me to get the hang of it, but for my husband and son it was much easier. The launcher works well to help us older, non-gifted athletes launch the ball farther and faster while saving the shoulder, elbow, and wrist (important if there is any arthritis). The ball fits nicely into the cup and releases easily. The 2.5 size was too small for my Doberman, so we opted for the 3.5 in launcher. This smaller launcher and ball are now in the employ of my sister and her husband for their retriever-border collie mix, an 18 month old little fireball!. This is just the right size for her. My sister's husband has difficulty with arthritis and is neither quick on his feet nor able to stand very long. So the launcher comes in very handy. He can actually sit in a lawn chair and throw the ball repeatedly when their dog retrieves and returns it to him. That is a win- win! Top 3 Likes: -Easy to use -Helps older pet owner -Drives the ball farther and faster Top 3 Dislikes: -With repeated uses the edges of the launcher appear to get scuffed and scratched -Some ingrained staining on the edges persists requiring scrubbing to remove -There is a mild worry that with time the launcher may snap
