The Emperor’s Children are prideful traitors who have fallen victim to their depraved obsessions. Upon the battlefields of the 41st Millennium, they indulge these obsessions in a horrifyingly violent fashion. Always on the move, they are driven by their compulsive need to experience new thrills and, in honour of Slaanesh, they weave an exquisitely intricate and lurid tapestry of violence.

This packed boxed set is ideal for starting a new Emperor’s Children collection – or expanding an existing army – to unleash in games of Warhammer 40,000, and save money compared to buying the kits separately. Led by a mighty winged Daemon Prince of Slaanesh, the force is composed of power-armoured warriors – you'll find ten Infractors and ten Tormentors for taking and holding objectives, and pushing forward into melee. Backing them up are two units of Noise Marines, ready to shred the sanity (and armour) of any who dare to oppose you.

This boxed set builds 33 multipart plastic Emperor's Children miniatures:
– 1x Daemon Prince of Slaanesh with Wings
– 12x Noise Marines
– 10x Infractors (which can alternatively be built as Tormentors)
– 10x Tormentors (which can alternatively be built as Infractors)

The miniatures in this box are easy to customise. The Daemon Prince includes a choice of clawed or hooved legs perched atop either a cracked rock or a pile of stones and skulls. The torso can be equipped with one of two suits of armour – an ornate breastplate suited to Warhammer Age of Sigmar, or a warped parody of power armour for the 41st Millennium – each with a similar set of pauldrons and vambrace-clad forearms. The Daemon Prince can be armed with a hellforged sword, a daemonic axe, or a pair of malefic talons, with a choice of arm poses. From its back sprouts a pair of wings, a grisly trophy rack, or a corrupted Heretic Astartes power pack. The kit also includes six different heads – one designed for each of the Chaos Gods and two for Chaos Undivided – with a suite of trophies, Chaotic sigils, and tail tips to truly dedicate your creation to the Ruinous Powers.

Two of the Noise Marines can be built as an optional Disharmonists, and up to four can be armed with an optional blastmaster. The Disharmonists each have three different heads to choose from, and the Noise Marines have interchangeable heads and shoulder pads – there are 18 helmeted heads, 10 bare heads, 12 Emperor's Children shoulder pads, and 24 standard ones.

The Infractors and Tormentors have the same frames, so you can build 20 Infractors, 20 Tormentors, or 10 of each. The Tormentors are armed with a boltgun and a close combat weapon, and two in every 10 can be armed with an optional special weapon – there are four meltaguns and four plasma guns in the kit. Alternatively, the miniatures can be assembled as Infractors, close combat warriors armed with a bolt pistol and duelling sabre. The kit includes Obsessionists to lead each squad – they each have a choice of two different loincloths and can each be armed with either a plasma pistol or bolt pistol, and a rupture lash or power sword. Whichever unit you choose to assemble, you'll find loads of options to customise your squads – interchangeable heads and shoulder pads. There are 24 helmeted heads, 16 bare heads, 24 Emperor's Children shoulder pads, and 40 standard ones. There's also a multitude of accessories, including grenades, pouches, and combat stims.

This kit is supplied with 4x Emperor’s Children Transfer Sheets, each containing 150 high-quality waterslide transfers to decorate your miniatures. These include Emperor’s Children symbols in a variety of colours and sizes, plus a selection of twisted Slaaneshi runes and script.

This kit comprises 800 plastic components, 1x Citadel 60mm Round Base, 12x Citadel 40mm Round Bases, and 20x Citadel 32mm Round Bases. These miniatures require assembly and are supplied unpainted – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.

This boxed set is only available while stocks last.

A Great Batman Story. Should be in the top Five.
Scott Snyder is an amazing writer and his grasp of the Batman lore and mythos is pretty cool. I am a Batman fan. He is without question my favorite superhero. I especially like to read Batman when he is written well and the mythos of the character are seen as assets to the narrative as opposed to a liability. Given the long history of the character and his supporting cast, there are only a handful of writers who have been able to develop the core of who the character is. Snyder does no compromise that in his work. The Batman in Black Mirror is his adopted son and protege Richard 'Dick' Grayson who was the first Robin the Boy Wonder and later Nightwing. Grayson replaced the original Batman Bruce Wayne when he "died" and this story takes place after Bruce makes his return from the "dead". This story should be on the top five lists of Batman tales. It is just that good. I think Scott Snyder will go down as one of the best Batman writers ever. The story is awesome and stunning. I highly recommend you pick this up especially if you are fan of Batman. You can read this as stand alone tale but if you want some background on Dick Grayson's tenure as Batman check out Those were written by Grant Morrison. I can't say enough about Scott Snyder. If you are a current comic book fan I highly recommend his current run on Batman. (With Bruce Wayne back as Batman). That is proving to be an awesome run. Often in the pantheon of Batman writers we tout Frank Miller as the pinnacle because of Batman Year One. I think Scott Snyder is going to be a threat to that crown when it is all said and done. This was a great book and its worth your money. It's not typical and predictable. I appreciate a writer who honors the mythos and creates something fresh and different. 5 stars for this book. Pick up this hardcover before it is sold out. Trust me it will be.I am sure it will be issued in paperback but his hardcover will be a great collectible.

Scott Snyder and Co. knock it out of the park
Going into this book, I was pretty apprehensive. I knew that it was a story that came as a direct of result of Grant Morrison's trainwreck of an arch that included Batman RIP and I knew that it had Dick Grayson as Batman instead of actual Batman Bruce Wayne. So the build up was awful, but man, if this isn't one of the finest Batman stories ever penned. Fair warning: this thing is BLEAK. Possibly the darkest Batman story I've ever read. The oppressive atmosphere is captured beautifully in the artwork (alternately Jock and Francavilla). It contains easily the most disturbing panel ever in a Batman comic and I'm honestly hard pressed to think of another one, period. In short, the artwork is spectacular and is the worth the price of admission alone. However, it's the writing that will have you hooked from page one. When I first received this in the mail, I casually picked it up, expecting to flip through and read it later. As soon as I started the first page, though, I couldn't put it down until it was done. The whole thing is just so spectacular. My misgivings about Dick Grayson as Batman completely evaporated when I got further in. Dick Grayson makes an excellent Batman, and what's more, it feels like Dick Grayson being Batman is actually essential to the story. This isn't an instance where it could have just as easily been Bruce Wayne in the cowl, it HAS to be Dick Grayson. Not only does Dick Grayson get a chance to out-Batman even Bruce Wayne, it could very well be the best James Gordon story ever written. Him struggling with his son's problems (I don't want to delve too much into the plot for fear of spoilers) can at times be genuinely heartbreaking, and adds a lot of depth to a character that's more often that not portrayed as Batman's errand boy (even more so than Robin, sometimes). So basically I was going into this expecting a good, not great, story to tide me over until the new Scott Snyder Batman New 52 trade comes out, and instead got what is easily one of the finest Batman stories ever written. I will never doubt Scott Snyder (or Dick Grayson) ever again.
