This Handmade Damascus Clip Point Bowie Knife reflects traditional long-blade Bowie proportions combined with modern Damascus steel craftsmanship. The blade is forged from layered Damascus steel, creating a distinctive, flowing grain pattern formed during repeated folding and forging. Each blade develops its own unique structure and visual character, ensuring no two knives are identical.

The extended 17-inch overall length provides strong reach, balanced handling, and efficient cutting performance. The Damascus Clip Point Bowie Knife blade geometry creates a sharp, defined tip while preserving spine strength. This blade style has remained one of the most recognized Bowie forms due to its balance between cutting efficiency and structural reliability.

The handle combines colored bone and resin with metal spacers, creating both structural stability and visual contrast. The ergonomic handle contour supports secure grip control and balanced handling across the full length of the knife. The metal guard improves safety by protecting the hand during use while enhancing overall balance.

This Bowie knife shares design heritage with historic long-blade patterns such as the classic Jim Bowie style Damascus knife and larger traditional forms like the Sheffield clip point Bowie knife. You can explore additional blade sizes, handle materials, and historic Bowie variations in the JW SteelCrafts Damascus Bowie knife collection.

Blade Construction and Pattern

The Damascus blade is formed through layered steel forging, producing a permanent grain pattern within the blade structure. This forging process strengthens the blade while preserving cutting precision and balance. The clip point tip improves control while maintaining durability along the spine.

Handle Structure and Grip Balance

The colored bone handle is shaped to provide controlled handling and long-term durability. The layered materials create a stable grip surface, while metal spacers strengthen structural integrity. The handle design distributes weight evenly, supporting balanced performance.

Carry and Storage

This Handmade Damascus Clip Point Bowie Knife includes a custom leather sheath designed to protect the blade and support safe storage. The sheath preserves edge condition and allows secure carry when not in use.

FAQs

Is a Bowie knife always made with a clip point blade?

No, not every Bowie knife has a clip point blade, but a Handmade Damascus Clip Point Bowie Knife uses this style for better tip control and a classic Bowie look.

What is a clip point knife best used for?

A clip point knife is best used for precise cutting, controlled piercing, slicing, and detailed outdoor tasks because of its sharp, narrow tip.

Why is a clip point knife called a clip point?

A clip point knife gets its name because the front section of the blade spine looks clipped, creating a thinner and sharper point.

Is a clip point knife better than a drop point knife?

A clip point knife is better for piercing and precision, while a drop point knife is stronger for heavy-duty utility and general outdoor use.

Fixes flats and old tires like a charm
Style: 1 gal
This stuff is awesome. If you have tractor tires, ATV tires, bike, tires, hell, any tires that hold air. This stuff is awesome. Awesome. Awesome. It does not work for highway vehicles, i.e. Cars and truck trucks. But anything else it’s great. Dollies, air compressors, wheelbarrows, the stuff is awesome dude.

slime is and has always been amazing for bike tires and other small pneumatic tires
Style: 1 gal
this is a great value, I have been using slime in my tubes of my bikes and a small inflatable pneumatic tires for probably 30 years, and I can say slime has only improved, and it works fantastic, this is a very good way to save money, and it works great on goat heads and several other ways your tires can get punctured, I still always recommend carrying a small air compressor or pump, but for the price point you just cannot beat slime, every bike shop should always carry this.

TireJect Product Featured on Youtube Channel "sixtyfiveford" Works Fantastic!
Size: 8oz MTB Tire Sealant Kit, Size: 8oz MTB Tire Sealant Kit
I recently had an opportunity to work on an old Troy-Bilt Snow Blower with a Carlisle Stud Bias Tire - 4.80-8 4 that had a continual leak and would not hold pressure for more than a day. After investigation, I discovered that it "Champagne" sized bubbles coming from an area on the sidewall that I circled in yellow "China" marker. Because of the size of the tire, I decided to purchase the "TireJect Mountain Bike (MTB) Tire Sealant Kit because I didn't require a lot of material to seal the tire. The TireJect Mountain Bike (MTB) Tire Sealant Kit came with an single 8oz container and I used 4 of those 8oz's in this single tire. The TireJect material sealed up the area beautifully. After the sealant cured, I was able to pump up the tire to 15PSI and it has held it's pressure for more than a week now. You can see from the photos, that the sidewalls in that yellow circled area were actually cracked (probably due to the tire sitting flat for more than a year). I highly recommend this product over previous products I have used in the past (Slime).
