Мета цього робочого зошита для учнів 'Інформатика. 5 клас НУШ' допомогти реалізувати новий Державний стандарт базової середньої освіти в 5 класах відповідно до Концепції 'Нова українська школа'. Зошит містить різноманітні завдання, спрямовані на краще засвоєння учнями навчального матеріалу з інформатики 5 класу і набуття ними як предметних, так і ключових компетентностей. Робочий зошит створено відповідно до модельної програми 'Інформатика. 5–6 класи' авторів Ривкінд Й. Я., Лисенко Т. І., Чернікова Л. А., Шакотько В. В. і підручника 'Інформатика. 5 клас' цього ж авторського колективу.

Завдання в зошиті розподілені по уроках з розрахунку навчального навантаження учнів 1,5 години на тиждень. При іншій кількості годин, які виділяються на вивчення інформатики в закладі освіти, учитель може самостійно перерозподілити завдання зошита.
