The Tamiya 1/48 Fieseler Fi 156C Storch (61100) reproduces one of the most remarkable light aircraft of the Second World War — the Storch (Stork) whose extraordinary short take-off and landing performance made it invaluable to the German military. The Storch could take off in as little as 45 metres and land in even shorter distances, thanks to its high-lift slotted wings and stalky undercarriage. It was used for reconnaissance, liaison, casualty evacuation, and the famous rescue of Mussolini from his mountaintop prison in 1943.
