Blasting off to the snarling energy of “Anarchy in the U.K.”, Junya Watanabe’s Fall 2006 show read like something of a manifesto: punk provocation filtered through utilitarian military discipline and obsessive craftsmanship. The collection leaned into camouflage, raw edged patchwork, exposed seams, cargo pockets, harness like strapping, and deconstructed tailoring, with garments layered, spliced, and reinforced as though built for an army of resistance rather than as a uniform for conformity or trend. Functional garments were torn up and reshaped into something far more tense and cerebral, balancing raw aggression with keen precision in a way that only Junya can. Mineral sunscreens have yet to master blending in and this is no different. If you're thinking of hitting the beach with your sexy bum protected it'd better be a ghost beach because you'll look like you've been dipped in white paint. Oh, and it doesn't wash off, so be prepared to look like Casper for days to come.
It rolls on fine if you shake it well first and it does protect.
