Cinco Classic Christmas tree stand

The stand that keeps your tree standing and drinking.

The Cinco Classic is one of the most used Christmas tree stands in the UK. Strong, reliable, and built from no-break polypropylene. Steel bolts clamp the trunk. Steel spikes hold it steady. The tree goes in and stays in.

The water reservoir sits low and wide with a spill guard to protect your floor. A well-watered Nordmann Fir will hold its needles far longer than a dry one. The Cinco keeps water accessible all season.

Available in four sizes. Each size has its own water capacity and socket diameter. Choose by the height of your tree.

Why water matters

A thirsty tree drops needles.

A freshly cut tree can drink more than a litre of water in its first 24 hours. After that, it needs regular water to stay healthy. A dry trunk seals itself within hours and stops drinking altogether.

The Cinco reservoir is low and wide for easy filling. Keep it topped up and your tree will hold its needles through Christmas and beyond.

Questions

Frequently asked

What size stand do I need?
Choose by the height of your tree. If your tree is between sizes, go up. Also check the trunk diameter: measure the base of the trunk and compare it to the socket diameter in the size guide above.
Does the stand work with any real tree?
Yes. The Cinco works with any cut real Christmas tree. It does not suit potted trees with root balls, which need a separate pot or planter.
Do I need tools to set it up?
No. The Cinco Classic uses steel bolts that hand-tighten. No screwdriver or spanner needed. Fill the reservoir, insert the trunk, and tighten.
How often should I top up the water?
Check it every day or two, especially in the first week. A fresh tree drinks a lot early on. Once established, the reservoir can last a few days between top-ups.

Linus's blue blanket
Format: Hardcover
Even though I'm reading the hardcover, I wrap the wonderful, wise words of W.S. Merwin around me. His poems infuse my life with an even keener sense of appreciating the "now." His words keep me in constant contact with my sense of responsibility for our planet. He's an inspiration for taking action to preserve, conserve, and plant trees, as well as recognizing the magnitude of the impact that each being carries. The geese, all animals, relationships, taking better care of the earth and each other, as well as experiencing the sorrows and the joys in life. He is dedicated to the craft of poetry and its vital role of importance in our lives. I wish I could thank him in person, but since that's not realistic, I will continue to do my best to honor him in my own way, by taking time to observe, experience, appreciate, write, take action, and reflect upon the beauty in the world and making the most of each moment. Carpe Diem!

What Merwin Thought Represented Him Best
Format: Paperback
If one volume could sum up adequately W.S. Merwin's artistic development and illustrate his place in American literature with some justice, "Migration" does the job. At least as importantly, it gives us the poet's own opinion on the poems for which he might want to be remembered, much as Nathaniel Tarn inspired Pablo Neruda to do in the selection of Neruda's poems that Tarn oversaw. I bought "Migration" at roughly the same time as and and cross-referenced his selection from those titles in "Migration" against the whole. While I still have one or two favorites that did not make the cut, I found the choices he made consistently better-inspired and more timeless than the poems that surrounded them (though overall Merwin has remained a consistent and astonishingly fine craftsman throughout his career). For those who want to go further back than Merwin's more recent books for Copper Canyon Press should not be disappointed.

ws merwin's collected poems
Format: Hardcover
it's a hardback and it's in great condition. apparently it's a library book that has been in more than one sale, at one point someone had put a price of fifty cents on it. it's sad that arguably one of the better modern writers did not find a permanent home but that meant a great deal for me. also, i hope the reason the book started its journey wasn't because the library folded but that might explain why the book left the shelves to begin with.
