DESIGN

HYDROFORMED FRAME

  • The D50 is built with a solid, super lightweight, stylish and unisex hydro-formed aluminum alloy frame in small, medium and large frame sizes suitable for people from 5’ all the way to 6’6” rider.
  • It is capable of payload up to 400lbs and offering an ergonomic shape, which makes it easy for the rider to get on and off.
  • The frame is specially designed to minimize all the vibrations and noise from the drive-system, the right wheelbase for a high speed and a pleasurable ride on both paved and unpaved roads.

E ASSIST SYSTEM

  • The D50 is equipped with an advanced pedal assist sensor with optimized torque emulation software.
  • The advanced torque emulating Pedal Assist Sensor (PAS) signals the controller to run the motor between 5 levels of pedal assist, providing a boost to your pedaling depending on the level of assistance you select while riding.
  • The D50 is equipped with an on-demand thumb throttle that gives you an extra boost which activates the motor proportionally to the twist regardless of pedaling to give you a fully electric ride in case you cannot pedal or need an instant acceleration or uphill push.

BATTERY PACK

  • The ENVO Battery powering the D50 is an integrated, down tube battery, with a charge indicator, security lock enclosed in an aluminum case to protect cells against any impact.
  • The battery is removable and can reach a range of up to 150 km per charge on pedal assist level 1.
  • The battery can be charged on or off the bike frame using the little portable CC-CV smart Li-Ion battery charger.
  • The ENVO Battery is an A-grade branded Li-Ion battery, comprising of Samsung, LG or Panasonic Li-Ion cells and a BMS that avoids battery from overcharging, overloading and other hazardous activities, thereby increasing both cyclic and calendar life of the battery.
  • Battery cells have been selected for best operating in freezing temperatures.

TIRES OPTIONS

  • D50 offers compatibility with 27.5''x1.95'', 27.5''x3.00'' (fat tire), and 29''x2.25'' tires.
  • 27.5″x1.95 tires, the best proven outer diameter for a commuter bike (i.e. 700C) but more cushion which improves ride comfort, dynamic maneuverability, and handling in different terrains while generating minimum noise and drag for normal urban paved rides.
  • 29''x2.25'' tires allows you to turn your D50 into a hard-tail mountain bike and explore the challenging trails.
  • 27.5''x3.00'' tires are fat and knobby enough for the best grip on wet snow, asphalt paved, dirt or gravel trails.

HYDRAULIC DISK BRAKE

  • Top of the line hydraulic disk brakes equipped with electric cut-off sensors provide more safety to the bike as well as the rider.

GEARED HUB MOTOR

  • ENVO D50 is equipped with a sealed, powerful, geared hub motor that offers 750W power and 60Nm torque and up to 45km/h speed.
  • Our motors are 50% lighter than all the rest powered geared hub motors in Canada, yet they deliver 50% more torque and 25% more battery efficiency.
  • These ENVO motors are developed for over 20,000 Km maintenance-free ride.

TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

  • Well-engineered 9 speed 48T chain ring and 11-36 cassette transmission help you overcome up to 25% grade when climbing a hill on gear 1 or 45km/h speed on gear 8 with gentle pedaling.

FORK

  • Adjustable, lockable fork with 80mm travel adds to high-speed stability and handling on trails and asphalt.

SIZING CHART

Seat Tube Length
The seat tube height should be adjusted as such that while pedaling your leg should not be fully extended at the bottom of the pedal, and your leg should not push against your body on the upswing

Effective Top Tube Length
The effective top tube length impacts your reach, if the top tube length is too long your body will be stretched and that may cause back pain and if the length is too short you may find it difficult to handle the bicycle. Our products feature an adjustable handlebar stem which lets the rider do the ergonomic fine-tuning.

Standover Height
For a comfortable experience, there must always be at least an inch or so space between you and the top tube on your bike when you are standing flat-footed. You can measure your inseam length and check that value against the table provided below.

An extraordinary tale of an 18th Century family
Have you wanted to read a book where the author decides to "rip out" one of the chapters, or leaves a blank page for you to 'draw' one of the characters? Would you enjoy a story which takes many chapters before the hero manages to be born? This 18th-Century tale is touchingly told. The characters are real, and fascinating. It's not their fault that their story is frequently and impishly interrupted by outlandish "digressions" on the part of an author so creative that his modern descendants are considered to be Joyce and Beckett, as well as many others. Would you enjoy a chapter on Chapters? About buttonholes? About whether parents and their children are kin to each other? A chapter on curses? Poor Laurence Sterne has so much trouble getting two of his characters down the stairs that he finally calls in a "critic" to help! Advice on reading such an unusual, even unique, book: read the first several chapters, then stop and reread them. Continue that process and soon the book will feel quite familiar, and that's when the fun really starts. The Oxford World's Classics edition follows the first edition of the book, and is preferred. Amazon also offers the fully-annotated edition, the "Florida" edition, in three volumes. A caution about the Everyman hardcover edition: they reprinted a later edition which groups Tristram Shandy into three volumes, not nine. And then they renumbered all the chapters! That's OK unless you read secondary sources that refer you to Book VII, Chap 4: good luck ever finding it.

A Total Sham-dy
What in the hell was this lunatic yammering about for all those 650 pages? What is the deal with his obession with noses, penises, and hobby-horses, hobby-horses, hobby-horses? Why does anyone consider it amusing when a writer keeps telling you he's going to get somewhere, but never does? Why is it entertaining at all to have blank chapters? Why is that cute? Why is that interesting? Who finds this funny? Who finds anything funny here at all? Why does this book of endless, mindless prattle, blabber, and piffle tickle anyone at all? Who finds digression to be enjoyable in literature? You? Why? Why? Tell me! I checked the ratings on Goodreads. This is what it showed: 5 stars: 33%, 4901 4 stars: 28%, 4064 3 stars: 22%, 3268 2 stars: 9%, 1414 1 star: 5%, 848 Meaning: 95% of these readers are flock-following, digression-loving, hobby-horse riding loonies who have swallowed the Kool-aid. There is nothing here but vacuous thundergunk. Pure, putrid unenertaining garbage. If I would have laughed once - just once - during the reading of this book, I would have given it a whole extra star, but it couldn't even do that. I give him one star for spelling Tristram's name right, and even then, it's a made-up name anyway, so I may have been hoodwinked as well.

Laurence Stern is still one of the most creative writers ever
This review is not about the words and images inside the book. This is about the fact that, when I removed the book from its packaging, the book's cover had too many creases and bends in it, both front and back, for my taste. Although I do think that Laurence Sterne might have smiled at my response, I don't think the creases were a type of samizdat (think Alexander Solzhenitsyn) added by a disgruntled/creative employee at Amazon. If this doesn't make any sense to you, or seems to be a silly mountain out of a molehill compliant, you will love the book.

A Few Thoughts on Tristram Shandy by Laurence Sterne
Shandy is an amazing book. More than anything it made me think of a late 1990s vibe with Seinfeld and David Foster Wallace. I can imagine the discourse that must have grown up around it. It I about memory and storytelling but also about nothing but also childbirth and siege warfare. I’m glad I read it; it was worth it even if it took a while.

A Dyadic Review: Baffling, Brilliant
Difficult. Rewarding. Serious. Hilarious. Wise. Faux-wise. Scholarly. Mock-scholarly. Observant. Absurdly, obsessively observant. Sharp characterizations. Ridiculous characters. Devout. Bawdy. Endearing. Frustrating. Genius. Barking mad. Narratively incoherent. Stream-of-consciousness associative. Consistently provincial. Profoundly universal. Mired in the 18th century. Harbinger of 20th century literary Modernism. Baffling. Brilliant Not for every taste. For my taste. And while I'm at it, let me give a shout-out for the out-of-print Norton critical edition, which provides many helps, essay avenues of understanding, and a clever chapter summary/table of contents. For so many years - since reading Moby Dick in grad school with the help of a Norton critical - this publication line has been my go-to for great texts: useful annotations, contemporary reviews, later scholarly articles, and more. And also let me give a shout-out to Anton Lesser, who narrated the complete novel for Naxos. I have never, ever experienced an audiobook as masterfully produced and narrated as Naxos' Tristram Shandy. No, it is simply not a book one can listen to and fully comprehend as heard. But one might read while listening, or listen while reading, with - if you have the riight software - the narration sped up closer to one's own reading speed, and experience the full majesty of Lesser's absolute preparation, with Latin, Greek, French, and German - as well as regional English - beautifully and humorously intoned, character voices carefully differentiated, tone and mood captured, etc. Or, as I do, go for a walk and listen as you walk, and afterward slip into a comfy chair, crack the novel open, and continue from where you left off, or backtrack if necessary to sort out the characters. In any event, and particularly for devotees of audio books, do find Anton Lesser's note-perfect reading, a veritable radio serial, perhaps the last book you'd expect anyone to attempt single-handedly, with My Father, My Uncle Toby, Corporal Trim, Parson Yorick, Doctor Slop, Widow Wadman, and all the rest of the supporting characters beautifully, consistently interpreted. Lesser is, in a galaxy of fine narrators, the greatest I've heard: an absolutely peerless voice actor in a most demanding work.
