Alberta Ferretti Femina: Italian Fashion's 90s Fragrance Icon

Before every designer felt obligated to launch a fragrance, Alberta Ferretti Femina arrived in 1993 as a genuine extension of the Italian fashion house's aesthetic. This oriental floral captures the optimism and femininity of early 90s perfumery—a time when fragrances favored approachability over complexity.

The 90s Oriental Floral Formula

Fragrances from this era followed a successful template: open with bright fruits, transition to soft florals, finish with gentle warmth. Femina by Alberta Ferretti executes this formula with the refinement you'd expect from an Italian fashion house known for romantic, feminine designs.

The fruity opening provides immediate freshness. These aren't the synthetic, candy-like fruits of modern releases—90s fruit notes tended toward more natural, crisp impressions that felt refreshing rather than sweet. This creates an accessible entry point that makes the fragrance instantly likeable.

Gentle Oriental Character

The "oriental floral" classification here means warmth without heaviness. This Eau de Parfum doesn't aim for the opulent, spice-heavy orientals popular in earlier decades. Instead, it offers just enough warmth to add depth to the floral heart without overwhelming the composition's fresh character.

The floral blend remains soft and diffuse rather than spotlighting specific blooms. This was typical of 90s design—create an overall impression rather than detailed note-by-note progression. The result feels cohesive and easy to wear.

What Makes This a 90s Classic

Femina represents a specific moment in fragrance history. The decade favored clean, optimistic scents that made you feel good rather than challenged your nose. If you wore perfume in the 90s or appreciate that era's aesthetic, this fragrance will feel immediately familiar—comforting in its adherence to what made that period's fragrances successful.

Performance Expectations

As an EDP from this era, longevity typically runs 5-7 hours with moderate projection. The sillage creates a pleasant aura without filling rooms—appropriate for the office-to-dinner lifestyle this fragrance was designed for. Don't expect modern beast-mode performance, but do expect consistent, polite presence.

Who Should Wear Femina Today

  • Women who wore this in the 90s and want to revisit a favorite
  • Those seeking alternatives to contemporary ultra-sweet or ultra-fresh releases
  • Daytime wear from spring through early fall
  • Anyone appreciating classic femininity without vintage heaviness
  • Fragrance collectors interested in 90s designer releases

The Alberta Ferretti Design Connection

Alberta Ferretti's fashion designs emphasize romantic femininity—flowing fabrics, soft colors, elegant simplicity. Femina translates these principles into scent. It's not trying to be edgy or provocative. The fragrance aims for the same understated elegance that defines the fashion house's aesthetic.

Value in Vintage Design

The 3.4 oz bottle provides substantial volume at a price point below current designer launches. For women building a varied fragrance wardrobe, this offers a different character than what dominates today's market—less synthetic, more rounded, and genuinely feminine without apology. It's a time capsule of when designer fragrances prioritized wearability and mass appeal over niche-inspired complexity.

Great supplement for overall health benefits
Size: 90 Count (Pack of 1)
I really like the features of the magnesium supplement. The fact that it's non-GMO and naturally sourced makes me feel better about taking it daily. I noticed improved sleep and muscle recovery after workouts. Including avocado oil and trace minerals is a nice touch. Overall, a good product for supporting bone, sleep, and muscle health.

Didn't help for sleep
Size: 90 Count (Pack of 1), Size: 90 Count (Pack of 1)
First of all, I want to mention that I do think this is a quality product. Sea-based magnesium has had a good effect on me before and with the combination of AstraGin and avocado oil, this is a solid list of ingredients. AstraGin is a patented proven combo of notoginseng and Astragalus that helps with absorption in small doses. This was my first time trying AstraGin and I was unsure about using it for nighttime use due to the notoginseng, which is stimulating. But I have seen this in some other sleep formulas and they claim it's only meant for absorption and shouldn't stimulate. The first time I tried it at night with some of my usual supplements, I fell asleep easily but all of a sudden woke up 2 hours later and couldn't go back to sleep for 1.5 hrs. I only drifted back to sleeping bc I was so awake and had to resort to THC gummies. I took a couple days off and tried it again and it was the same bad sleep. Your experience might be different from mine because I am very sensitive to a lot of supplements and I think the AstraGin just doesn't agree with my system but I wanted to let other sensitive people know so they can be cautious.

Naturally sourced, quality magnesium softgels, with bioavailability and absorption support.
Size: 90 Count (Pack of 1), Size: 90 Count (Pack of 1)
As someone who’s been using magnesium for years and likes to rotate between different forms like glycinate, bisglycinate, citrate, and L-threonate. I’m always on the lookout for magnesium supplements with smart formulas, especially those that prioritize bioavailability and absorption, since I’ve had issues with nutrient absorption in the past. This marine derived magnesium in softgel form really stood out to me, as I prefer softgels for bioavailability and absorption support. I’ve never been able to find a quality, natural, non-synthetic magnesium supplement in softgel form but I feel like I finally have. This aquamin magnesium was completely new to me and I found it genuinely refreshing, as it’s a break from the usual synthetic forms. You can tell right away this isn’t just another basic magnesium supplement. I’m impressed by this being a natural form of magnesium that contains 72 trace minerals that are naturally sourced from clean Irish seawater and sustainably harvested. I really appreciate the addition of avocado oil, as it helps support better absorption of magnesium. It's also a great source of healthy fats and antioxidants. Additionally this contains an ingredient completely new to me called AstraGin, which is naturally derived from astragalus and panax notoginseng. It was clinically shown to help support enhanced absorption. I really like seeing this in this supplement facts, it’s a big bonus for me, having nutrient absorption challenges. Although, anyone would benefit from high bioavailability and support for enhanced absorption. The focus on bioavailability and absorption was a big stand out, it’s exactly what I want to see in choosing a supplement. I usually use magnesium bisglycinate because of its high absorption, but this one actually claims even higher solubility compared to both glycinate and bisglycinate. A serving size of three oblong softgels provide 600 mg of magnesium sourced from sea water, 990 mg of avocado oil and 33 mg AstraGin. I love that my body is getting the support of a new form of magnesium that is natural and pure with the benefits of avocado oil and additional absorption support. healthy fats, I found three softgels easy to swallow, but I can see how these might be more challenging to have to take three of this size for a serving. I had no aftertaste or stomach upset, these seem very gentle overall. This is a high-quality magnesium supplement that's naturally sourced, with a focus on bioavailability and absorption support, that’s been clinically tested, and made with purity and transparency in mind. This is a true standout in my magnesium rotation. If you're looking for a magnesium supplement, I highly recommend trying it.
