Книжка “Культура. Завтра” – збірник есеїв і публіцистики про те, як ми мислимо й конструюємо майбутнє країни. У фокусі уваги авторів і авторок – подолання системних проблем у культурі та пошук нових стратегій її розвитку, уявлення про нинішні виміри ідентичностей, історія (само)цензури в культурі та її сучасні прояви, потенціал креативної економіки, реінтеграція вразливих спільнот у соціальне життя засобами культурних проектів і мистецьких ініціатив.

Більшість текстів, що увійшли до книжки, публікуються вперше. Серед 17 авторок і авторів текстів – Завен Баблоян, Ольга Балашова, Катерина Ботанова, Діана Клочко, Любов Морозова, Вікторія Наріжна, Олеся Островська-Люта, Микола Скиба та інші. Книжка “Культура. Завтра” містить англомовний варіант усіх текстів. Авторський дизайн книжки – Віталіни Лопухіної.

У листопаді 2014 року CSM розпочав проект “Культура. Завтра”. За цей час відбулася ціла низка подій – дискусій і відкритих розмов із художниками, публіцистами, письменниками. На одній із лекцій проекту прозвучала думка культуролога Олександра Івашини, що подібні інтелектуальні зустрічі під час війни – це модус нашого існування, спосіб побути разом, своєрідна форма солідарності й терапії. А крім того – спосіб намацати зачіпки для подальшого руху.

“Нині нам дуже потрібен співрозмовник – Інший, із яким можна поговорити про причини, наслідки, помилки, переваги й майбутнє. Потреба мислити категоріями майбутнього рано чи пізно з’являється в людей, готових до змін. Але українське майбутнє поки що вислизає з інформаційного поля й актуальних тем для публічного обговорення – нині країна вирішує проблеми, народжені минулим. Проект “Культура. Завтра” замислений саме для того, щоб ідеї про свободу, креативний потенціал країни й майбутнє перетворювалися з розрізнених слів на цілісні ідеї, а згодом – на дію,” – пише у вступі до книжки кураторка проекту Віра Балдинюк.
