What is the difference between the Grand Edition and the Grand Limited Edition? The Grand Limited Edition is a special release that offers the same physical profile (shape, edges, and sweet spot) as the flagship Grand Edition but uses a slightly different selection of Grade 1 English Willow. This allows players to experience the professional Virat Kohli shape at a more accessible price point.
What grade of willow is used in this bat? This bat is crafted from Grade 1 English Willow. While it may not have the absolute cosmetic perfection of the "Player Special" clefts, it is performance-graded to ensure a powerful ping and excellent durability for competitive cricket.
What is the sweet spot profile on the Grand Limited Edition? It features a classic Mid-Middle sweet spot, identical to the profile favored by Virat Kohli. This ensures a large hitting area that rewards drives and punches through the covers while maintaining a balanced pickup for reactive shots.
Does this bat require knocking in? Yes, the MRF Genius Grand Limited Edition is made from natural English Willow and requires a full knocking-in process. We recommend manual knocking with a mallet and oiling to compress the fibers and harden the edges against the impact of a new leather ball.
