Hochrain, located above the village of Wösendorf, is one of the Wachau's classic Grüner Veltliner sites. Unlike many of Peter's steep stone terraces, Hochrain is defined by deep deposits of loess, the wind-blown sediment that has become synonymous with some of Austria's greatest Grüner vineyards. Peter often points to Hochrain as a clear example of how profoundly soil can influence a wine's character.

The 2024 shows the hallmark traits of the site, with layers of yellow apple, white peach, citrus zest, and subtle spice. Beneath the fruit lies a gentle savory character and textural depth that distinguish Hochrain from the more mineral-driven vineyards of the Spitzer Graben.
