Standing at a commanding 24 1/4" tall, this shifter is specifically engineered for the unique ergonomics and cabin layout of the 1960–1965 Split Window Bus. Fully machined from premium billet aluminum, the handle and base feature a custom anodized finish with contrast-cut highlights and a precision-engraved EMPI logo.
This shifter replaces the notoriously long and vague "rowboat" factory throw with a crisp, notched, and high-performance feel. The combination of a heavy-duty chromed shaft and a specialized Poly Resin Bushing eliminates the common flex and slop in the linkage. Additionally, the integrated Right-Hand Lock-Out Button and included heavy-duty lockout plate provide a mechanical safety to ensure you never accidentally engage reverse during gear changes.
