This exceptional coating is extremely hard while offering a very low coefficient of friction, so it runs cool. The bits purple color comes from the carbon nitrating process, which makes this bit last 10 times longer than the standard HSS bit. Rockwell Hardness of 96, max temp rating of 1600 degrees. Measuring 1-47/64" L x 5/16" in diameter, they can be used in any drill which runs between 700 to 1800 rpm.
