Create Smooth, Classic Concave Edges with the Freud Cove Router Bit

Achieve professional-grade detailing on your next project with the Freud 30-111 5/16" Radius Cove Router Bit. This versatile tool allows you to rout clean, smooth concave edges that add a timeless aesthetic to furniture, millwork, and cabinetry. Whether you are crafting a drop-leaf table joint or adding decorative molding to a bookshelf, this bit delivers precise results. Its robust 1/2" shank offers superior stability and reduced vibration, making it compatible with a wide range of hand-held and table-mounted portable routers.

Engineered for performance, the 30-111 features a sophisticated shear angle design that slices through wood fibers in a motion similar to a craftsman using a hand plane. This cutting action significantly reduces the risk of tearing or splintering, even when working with materials that have figured or difficult grain. Constructed with durable carbide and finished with Freud's Perma-SHIELD® Coating, this bit cuts cleanly through hardwood, softwood, plywood, and composites while resisting heat and pitch buildup for a longer tool life.

Key Features

  • Shear Angle Geometry: Slices wood fibers cleanly to eliminate tear-out and minimize sanding.
  • Classic Cove Profile: Creates a smooth 5/16" radius concave shape for decorative edging.
  • Perma-SHIELD® Coating: Non-stick coating reduces friction and prevents rust and resin adhesion.
  • High-Speed Stability: Rated for up to 24,000 RPM for efficient material removal.
  • Versatile Application: Safe for use on both hand-held and table-mounted routers.
  • Multi-Material Compatibility: Ideal for cutting hardwoods, softwoods, plywoods, and composition materials.
  • Precision Bearing: Includes a 3/8" ball bearing guide for easy template and edge work.

Pro-Tip: Sanding inside a cove profile can be tricky. To make it easier, wrap your sandpaper around a 5/8" diameter dowel or rod. Since this bit cuts a 5/16" radius (which equals a 5/8" diameter circle), the dowel will fit perfectly into the curve for uniform sanding.

returned- for now
Style: Updated Formula
I was using the lotion version of this for about a year, then went to the balm for more hydration. However, it seems to be breaking me out. I think because it's spring, im not needing as much occlusion as i did during winter. I'm gonna go back to the lotion formula, then pick this up again next winter. It is a little hard to spread, but I spray the avene mineral water on, let it dry slightly, and press the balm into my skin when its still wet. That helps thin the balm just enough to rub in. Otherwise, it can actually feel kind of rough!

Impressive
Style: Updated Formula
Nice thick cream! I even saw results (skin improvement) within days. I like this way better than their Cicalfate+, as it’s easier to rub in, less greasy, and doesn’t have the water vs cream separation issue. I’m not a huge fan of the pump top for this one, but at least it’s a tube instead of a solid canister (where you can’t see how much is left or get to the last bit).
