Overview:
The Red Tailed Penguin Tetra is a unique and eye-catching schooling fish that features a sleek silver body, a bold black horizontal stripe, and a distinct red-tinted tail, adding a subtle flash of color to its refined appearance. Known for their peaceful nature and rhythmic swimming, these tetras are ideal for community tanks and look best when kept in schools of 6 or more.

Origin:
Found in the Amazon and Orinoco River basins across Brazil, Peru, and Colombia. The red-tailed variant is likely a selectively bred strain or natural regional color morph of the well-known Thayeria boehlkei.

Feeding:
Omnivorous and easy to feed. Will happily accept high-quality flakes, micro pellets, and frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. A varied diet helps maintain color and energy levels.

Tank Mates:
Very peaceful and community-friendly. Pairs well with other small schooling fish such as neon tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, dwarf gouramis, and peaceful livebearers. Keep in groups of 6+ for best behavior and visual impact.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 72–80°F (22–27°C)
  • pH: 6.0–7.5
  • Soft to moderately hard water
  • Minimum Tank Size: 20 gallons
  • Prefers planted tanks with open swimming space and subdued lighting

Behavior & Personality:

  • Known for its diagonal “tail-up” swimming posture
  • Peaceful, active, and great for mid-to-upper levels of the tank
  • Displays best behavior and schooling effect when kept in larger groups

Special Notes:

  • Red coloration becomes more vibrant with good lighting and diet
  • Hardy and beginner-friendly, yet unique enough for seasoned aquarists
  • Great addition to South American biotope or planted community aquariums
  • May occasionally jump—secure lids recommended

The Red Tailed Penguin Tetra is a graceful and distinctive schooling fish, perfect for adding movement and subtle color to your freshwater aquarium. Its peaceful nature and elegant looks make it a fantastic choice for both new and experienced aquarists.

Good comfort, quality and classy
Size: 8.5, Color: Black/Ivory
’ve been wearing Cole Haan dress sneakers for work and travel, and they strike a really good balance between professional and comfortable. The biggest advantage is how lightweight they feel compared to traditional dress shoes. Most styles have sneaker-like cushioning, so you can walk or stand all day without your feet getting destroyed. The design is also versatile and look polished enough for business casual outfits but still casual enough to wear with jeans. They work especially well in office environments where a full formal shoe feels too stiff or outdated.

New Favorite Work Shoe
Size: 9.5, Color: Black/Ivory
These Cole Haan Grand Crosscourt Daily shoes have quickly become my new favorite work shoes. They’re incredibly comfortable right out of the box, with just the right amount of cushioning and support to get through long days on my feet. I love that they look sleek and professional while still feeling casual enough to wear anywhere. The build quality is top-notch—durable materials and solid construction that make them feel like they’ll last a long time. Overall, these shoes strike the perfect balance between comfort, style, and practicality. I can honestly say I look forward to wearing them every day. Highly recommend for anyone who spends a lot of time on their feet but doesn’t want to sacrifice style.

Well Made for price and style
Size: 10.5, Color: Black/Ivory
Great fit and very flexible. I also recommend buying shoe savers when purchasing this product. To help with toes wrinkles. The pair itself is stylish and very comfortable. Any purchase of this product will be greatly satisfied.
