About The Coffee

Bukonzo Organic Farmers Co-operative Union was started in 2009 to try and increase the prices gained by farmers for their coffee production.

This region of SW Uganda has historically been made up of home processed and natural coffees of lower commercial qualities. Recognising the excellent growing conditions for arabica production, Bukonzo invested in 36 local micro washing stations designed to process high quality fully washed coffees, as well as securing organic certification for their farmers.

This approach has allowed an increase in premiums reaching the farmers in what is one of the most impoverished parts of the country, creating a sustainable industry for which they can provide for their families. Bukonzo also place a large emphasis on environmental sustainability, using organic fertilisers from local livestock and intercropping with bananas, beans, fruit trees, coco-yams, vanilla, passionfruit, and mango trees.

Situated at the feet of the Rwenzori mountains just north of Lake George, the region around Kasese has excellent conditions for speciality Arabica production with some of the highest altitude in Uganda, fertile soil and plentiful rainfall. However widespread poverty and a lack of infrastructure, as well as the political upheaval in Uganda over the past 40 years has meant this region has struggled to realise its full potential for speciality arabica production. Organisations such as Bukonzo Co-Operative are leading the way in realising this potential and returning it to its status as a respected speciality arabica producing region in Uganda.

Decent Shoes with Misleading Description (Not Leather)
Size: 12 Wide, Color: Black, Size: 12 Wide, Color: Black
I only look for leather when I’m purchasing dress shoes. Under the description “details” on this item it lists the shoe as leather upper and inner lining. A photo shows “genuine Napa leather lining”. If you keep reading (which I have now that I’ve received the shoes) it shows “faux leather” in the small print and that is not “leather”. I run a small leather business and this irks me because it’s clearly false advertising. The details also show the product is made in Brazil but when they arrived today, the shoe tag shows “Made in China” and “Man Made upper and lower”. I don’t hate the shoes. They look nice. What I know is they won’t hold up over time like leather, which is why the description should be accurate and not misleading.

Great piece of equipment. Worked for mouse, hard drive, and digital camera all into a laptop.
Works great. I used to plug in a mouse, an external hard drive, and an overhead Nikon digital camera for historic digitization of documents and books. It small and compatible and there were no connection or power problems. It feels well built and sturdy and the cord connection to the device is strong and flexible.

Great for retro emulation!
Got this for a retro emulation setup. Worked great. No issues whatsoever. Works on apple as well. Its a basic usb hub, but doesn't feel cheap. Got it on sale, which made it even better!

inexpensive usb3.1 gen 2 hub with PD
This USB3.1 gen 2 hub is well made, featuring VIA Labs controller (device id 2109:2822) and is made in China. It looks nice and performs according to the specs. I wish usb-c socket supported TB3/Alt DP cable to connect a display to it, but it is apparently made mainly for power delivery. I think the hub is a good value.
