Although the doctrine of eternal generation has been affirmed by theologians of nearly every ecclesiastical tradition since the fourth century, it has fallen on hard times among evangelical theologians since the nineteenth century. The doctrine has been a structural element in two larger doctrinal complexes: Christology and the Trinity. The neglect of the doctrine of eternal generation represents a great loss for constructive evangelical Trinitarian theology. Retrieving the doctrine of eternal generation for contemporary evangelical theology calls for a multifaceted approach. Retrieving Eternal Generation addresses (1) the hermeneutical logic and biblical bases of the doctrine of eternal generation; (2) key historical figures and moments in the development of the doctrine of eternal generation; and (3) the broad dogmatic significance of the doctrine of eternal generation for theology. The book addresses both the common modern objections to the doctrine of eternal generation and presents the productive import of the doctrine for twenty-first century evangelical theology. Contributors include Michael Allen, Lewis Ayres, D. A. Carson, Oliver Crisp, and more.

______________

FRED SANDERS is professor of theology at Biola University’s Torrey Honors College. A popular blogger and public speaker, Sanders writes mainly on the doctrine of the Trinity. Scott Swain is Professor of Systematic Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando, Florida. He is author of several books, including The God of the Gospel: The Trinitarian Theology of Robert Jenson, and Trinity, Revelation, and Reading: A Theological Introduction to the Bible and its Interpretation. He serves as general editor (with Michael Allen) for T&T Clark’s International Theological Commentary and Zondervan’s New Studies in Dogmatics series. He is a regular blogger at Reformation21.

______________

The creedal doctrine that the Son of God was “begotten of the Father before all worlds” is a notion that is often misunderstood or else maligned by many contemporary theologians. In this context, Swain and Sanders have brought together an impressive collection of essays from across the theological disciplines in order to elucidate and defend this linchpin Trinitarian doctrine. The book’s coherence lies not only in the sum of its parts but also in the synthetic nature of its individual chapters. This is retrieval theology at its best---careful in its treatment of the historical sources and relevant in its theological import.' R. Lucas Stamps, assistant professor of Christian studies, Anderson University

Incredibly comfy and sexy but watch for health variables
Size: Large, Color: 2 Black,2 Blue,light Coffee
I love these so much. Incredibly comfy and no more awkward panty lines (with no awful thong string needed). I would have absolutely loved a grayscale-colored pack (black, gray, ivory). The gray ones are fantastic and subtle if the top band sticks out a bit with jeans (I thought the blue ones would blend better, but they stand out in a weird way? Maybe a darker denim color would be less noticeable.) These are SO comfortable I actually enjoy getting dressed in the morning more, lol. My husband also really likes how these look. I feel way more everyday-sexy than regular cotton briefs or bikini-style underwear or the like. *A big thing to be aware of is that these do not breathe the same way as cotton, so you need to make sure your netherparts get adequate opportunity to air out so you don’t get a yeast infection. Your vaginal ecosystem will get out of balance if it’s too hot and/or compressed on a regular basis (like with yoga pants or etc.), so make sure to trade off with other more breathable underwear and give your body time to breathe and cool down. If this same company also made 100% cotton boyshorts in a multipack, that would be all I’d ever need!

10/10 would recommend

I have bought 2 packs of these now, I love them! I wear them mostly to bed or under sweatpants, they're super comfy and good coverage. I don't really care about how these look, I just like not feeling like my underwear is too small for me with my belly or my butt hanging out! I followed the size chart and 3XL sounded way too big but these fit great, tight enough to stay up but don't hurt or leave marks on my thighs/stomach. (for reference: 5'5, 200lbs, waist 32, hips 46)

Love everything except for the seams
Size: Medium, Color: 2 Black,2 Blue,light Coffee
This material of the "2black, 2blue,1 light coffee" color pack is wonderfully silky, soft, and stretchy. The colors are great and they look good on me. The only issue I have is with the seams. I'm very glad there are no seams at the hips, and I know because of that, the seams have to go somewhere. Isn't there a better place to put them than across the most sensitive female area and under my rear end so I sit on hard seams all day? I use these for my sleeping undies, and they are great for that because they're soft and pleasantly snug and so comfy to sleep in. I couldn't wear these during the day and sit on these seams for even 15 minutes. I'll admit I'm sensitive to seams but these leave a significant hard lump (especially contrasted with the wonderful material) and it's such a bummer to have them right under the bum! And across the female parts! The first women's underwear manufacturer that figures out a place to put the seams that aren't digging into hips, scratching sensitive female parts, or situated directly under my rear end while sitting will get ALL MY BUSINESS AND PRAISE. Edit: I purchased a second pack in different colors called "Black, navy, melange, london Blue, burgandy". The material of this second order is not as soft and silky as the first. It's wearable, but has a scratchy roughness to it. The material of the first pack I bought (2black, 2blue,1 light coffee) is much much better.

SOOOO COMFORTABLE
Size: Large, Color: 2 Black,2 Blue,light Coffee
LOVED THESE SO MUCH. FIRST, BOUGHT THEM IN A MEDIUM (I AM 5'3 AND 143 LBS -- WEIGHT GAIN OF 10 LBS DUE TO COVID 19), BUT THEY DID CURL UP. IT DIDN'T MATTER...I COULDN'T EVEN 'FEEL' ANYTHING DIFFERENT FROM THE MOMENT I PUT THEM ON -- THEY FLEX RIGHT WITH YOU -- SO SOFT. LOVED THEM SO MUCH, I BOUGHT THEM IN A LARGE. I WILL EITHER WEAR THEM TO BED...OR UNDER MY DRESSES. BOTH SIZES FEEL SO COMFORTABLE -- DOESN'T MATTER WHICH SIZE. IF THEY DON'T HAVE YOUR DESIRED SIZE, TRY THE NEXT SIZE -- YOU WON'T FEEL ANY PINCHING OR DISCOMFORT. AGAIN...SOOO SOFT.
