This increases hardness (Rc 75 80) without increasing brittleness, which is measurably harder than high speed steel. Body and clearance are gold and black surface treated for maximum lubricity. I was pleasantly surprised about the quality of this wire. Very easy to use. Flexible yet truly 18 gauge copperwire. The insulation is good.
I used this wire to run some cab lights inside my fishing boat. I also ran battery charge level indicators and a phone charge. I highly recommend this wire.

Good quality wire, but thicker than expected

The wire itself is great quality — sturdy and well-insulated. I bought it to wire up several COB LED lights, but the individual wires and outer sheath were a bit too thick to fit into the press connectors I was using. It’ll work perfectly for other projects, just something to keep in mind if you’re using tight-fit connectors.
