Dennerle Carbo Bio Style 120 Stainless Steel Reaction Chamber
The Dennerle Bio Style 120 CO2 Stainless Steel Reaction Chamber is a complete fertilizer system for freshwater aquaria. Provides a constant supply of fertilization for aquarium plants, supplied with a 40-day supply of CO2 Constant Gel.
- Complete set for uniform CO2 fertilization
- Refillable reaction container made of stainless steel with pressure relief valve
- With Dennerle CO2 Constant Gel for at least 40 days of steady CO2 production
- For healthy, strong plants and bright colors
Carbon is the most important nutrient for aquarium plants.
The Dennerle Carbo Bio Style 120 bio CO2 fertilizer system supplies all freshwater aquaria up to 120 liters (31.7 US gal.) with vital CO2. It is ready for operation in just a few steps. The CO2 production already starts after 24 to 48 hours. A Bio CO2 diffuser specially designed for low operating pressure ensures fast, effective dissolution of the valuable CO2 in the aquarium water. Thanks to its modern, timeless design, the fertilizer system also cuts a fine figure standing directly next to the aquarium.
A pressure relief valve, pressure-resistant CO2 hose and solid hose fittings ensure a high level of operating safety. The Dennerle Carbo Bio Style 120 CO2 fertilizer system is designed to be particularly sustainable: The stainless steel reaction container is refillable and can be used for many years, the CO2 Constant gel consists of 100 % renewable raw materials.
Plants consist of almost 50% carbon. CO2 is therefore their most important nutrient. It serves as the basic building block for photosynthesis. From CO2, water and light, they produce their most important building material and energy source: sugar. As a "waste material“, oxygen is produced, which all animals need to breathe.
Without the addition of CO2, the level in aquaria is always too low. Plants therefore grow only slowly or not at all. This in turn means little oxygen production for fish and shrimp, but above all the risk of algae problems increases significantly. Well growing aquatic plants are the best prevention against algae!
Only a regular addition of CO2 creates the natural basis for healthy, strong plant growth, lush green leaves and bright colors. The plants produce more oxygen for the fish, ensure better water quality and actively prevent algae.
The valuable carbon is produced by a 100 % natural bio-reaction. Selected microorganisms, in combination with the CO2 Constant gel developed by Dennerle, supply an almost constant amount of CO2 (per filling) for at least 40 days.
In conventional Bio CO2 systems, on the other hand, which work with white household sugar, CO2 production tends to be very irregular.

Renews faith in comics
Decided to dive into the DC Comics New 52 and in preparation for Batwoman #1, I decided to pick up this book as a recommendation to getting the full story on this relatively new character to the DC world. This comic renewed my faith in comic books as both great stories and great pieces of art! Greg Rucka crafts a great story here but the artist JH Williams III presents it to you. You get to know this character here in more ways than just a quick reference. Batwoman is given the desire to serve her fellow man as her motivation. She is given the demographic of a Jewish lesbian soldier with a solid family background which is something we don't see much in our universe of white dominated or scarred superheroes. Sure she lost her mother and twin sister as at a young age, but she isn't damaged here. She rises above and serves only to be disappointed by trust issues in her life. But Rucka and Williams make her a bold woman who just keeps going like a shark, surviving because its her instinct and not her desire to escape something. This is the 21st Century woman superhero. Panels of note for me were: 1) how they presented the apartment Batwoman's alter ego lived in, 2) a beautiful full page spread showing the fight on the plane between Batwoman and Alice, 3) a transition panel where Batwoman and Alice are shown on the phone to each other, 4) a touching series where Batwoman as a child and her twin sister realize they are moving because of military orders and their life will change and they swear to always be there for each other. If you want to take a chance on the DC Comics reboot, take a chance on Batwoman #1 and get this one to bring you up to speed, you won't be sorry. A great twist for any new reader wanting to test the graphic novel/comic book scene.

Beautiful Art, Compelling Story
The birth of Kate Kane as Batwoman is one of my favorite graphic novels in my collection. I already owned the digital edition on my iPad, but the art by J.H. Williams was just too amazing not to see in print. This artist knows how to draw beautifully artistic pages; right down to the panels themselves. I also love the style shift from nighttime Batwoman to daytime Kate Kane.
The story is really great, especially the ending of Elegy! I also really loved the back stories that follow, showing the history of Kate Kane and how she became the Batwoman. Its also good to know that the New 52 timeline in DC didn't delete all this continuity.
Batwoman isn't another Batman flunkie. She's a strong woman and an amazing character that Greg Rucka and J.H. Williams really bring to life in this book.

Better Than Batman!
This is by far one of the best Batman titles that doesn't include Batman as the title character. I'm not much of a reader of Batman, but I have been very interested in Batwoman since I read the 52 series back in 2006. The story line itself is much better then when 52 presented her for the first time. I really like how Rucka focused more on her homosexuality and making her an identical twin too (since I'm a twin myself). However, what blew me away the most was the artwork. Williams really focuses on covering the entire page with art and color; giving you the full comic book art experience. I have seen and very much liked his work in Promethea and think this is just as good. Batwoman is now my second favorite super heroine after Wonder Woman of course.

Compelling and beautiful
I'll say this up-front: I'm a Marvel fangirl. Even so, this book has won me over to reading at least some DC stuff, because it's utterly beautiful. The writing is wonderful and compelling, and the art is astoundingly good, especially the creative, non-standard panelling.
This book doesn't really sound like it'd be one as highly rated as it is, does it? Let's be honest here. It's about a lesbian Batman knockoff who's battling a mutant werewolf cult led by an insane Alice-in-Wonderland fan who speaks only in lines from Carroll's book.
...but they MAKE IT WORK. I don't know how, but it's powerful and a damn good read despite the craziness of the premise. And Kate Kane might just be my favourite superhero now.
