About Mandevilla:
While in Italy this summer, I came across a radiant red Mandevilla spilling over a sunlit terrace. I’d never seen this flower before, but it stopped me in my tracks. Its vivid blooms felt both festive and serene—a quiet kind of joy that lingers. Painting it became my way of holding onto that moment, when time seemed to slow and beauty felt impossibly abundant.

Mandevilla sanderi. Native to South America and now beloved around the world, this tropical vine produces trumpet-shaped flowers that flourish in warm climates. Often seen climbing walls and trellises, the Mandevilla is celebrated for its long-lasting blooms and brilliant color, a natural symbol of vitality and grace.
