This Stirling engine is driven by the Temperature Differential between the top and bottom panels. The simplest way to make temperature differential is placing it on a mug of hot water or on top of ice. Rotating speed highly depends on the differential: the higher, the faster. Our experiment indicates that it can rotate at a speed of around 600-1000 RPM when placed on a mug of boiled water.

The Operating Temperature Differential of this model is around 27-34°F, much lower than most of the engines on the market. It can continuously rotate for 20-25 minutes on a cup of 140°F water, safer for kids. Please note when you use 140°F water (its steam actually) within a 250ml tea cup as heat source, the temperature of bottom panel is about 122°F.
