Will it fit a wooden field gate? Yes — it works with both metal and wooden gates. For wooden gates you'll need to fit a striker plate so the latch has something to drop onto.
Can I padlock it? Yes. The pendulum has a pre-drilled hole that takes any standard padlock.
Is it weatherproof? The [galvanised / powder-coated] finish is designed for permanent outdoor use and will resist rust in typical UK weather.
Will it work on a self-closing gate? Yes — pair it with self-closing hinges and you have a fully automatic close-and-lock system, ideal for paddocks, pool surrounds and stockyards.
