German Equatorial Mount with Precision Controls

The AstroMaster 130EQ features a manual German Equatorial mount with setting circles, enabling accurate location and tracking of sky objects.

• Two slow-motion control knobs

• Fine pointing adjustments in Right Ascension (RA) and Declination (DEC)

• Smooth and controlled tracking

The rugged, pre-assembled tripod with 1.25-inch steel tube legs provides a rigid and stable observing platform.

RA Motor Drive for Automatic Tracking

The included RA motor drive transforms the manual equatorial mount into a tracking mount.

• Compensates for Earth’s rotation

• Tracks a star’s movement from east to west

• Requires only occasional declination (Dec) adjustments once polar aligned

• Runs on a 9V battery (no cords required)

• Works in both Northern and Southern Hemispheres via N/S switch

• Adjustable speed using the Speed Rate Regulator knob

Because solar system objects move at different rates than deep-sky objects, the adjustable speed control allows you to match the motor’s speed to the object being observed.
