For sale is a traditional Sindhi Ajrak (made in Sindh, Pakistan) of 100% cotton. This is the original, higher quality Ajrak which is a block printed shawl (natural dye) and not the lower quality mixed material shawl commonly found online. The shawls are handmade in limited quantities a year and are considered to be an important cultural symbol of the Sindhi culture. This shawl is commonly worn by Sindhi musicians who play the "Al-Goza" instrument and accompanies folk dancing also.
"The ajrak is an integral part of Sindhi culture and Sindhi nationalism. Its usage is evident at all levels of society, and is held in high esteem, with the utmost respect given to it.
