The Dudognon family has built a reputation for producing classically styled Cognacs with no additives, slow maturation, and an emphasis on purity over polish.
After four decades in barrel, the spirit develops extraordinary complexity while still retaining remarkable freshness and lift. The nose is layered with dried apricot, candied orange peel, walnut, cedar, pipe tobacco, honey, vanilla, leather, and delicate floral notes that continue to evolve in the glass. More savory aromas of black tea, cocoa, polished wood, and old rancio emerge with air.
On the palate, it’s silky and expansive with flavors of fig, roasted nuts, caramelized orchard fruit, citrus marmalade, baking spice, espresso, and subtle earthy tones carried through an exceptionally long finish. The oak influence is deeply integrated, adding structure and spice without overshadowing the spirit’s natural elegance.
Grande Champagne’s chalky soils often give Cognacs a distinctive sense of finesse and longevity, and that character comes through clearly here. Even with the age and concentration, the Cognac never feels overly heavy or tired.
