Carrying 58 cannon, the H.M.S. Neptune was instrumental in the defeat of the French fleet in the Battle of La Hougue on June 2nd 1692.
Corel's kit is based on a model in the Greenwich Naval Museum. Laser-cut wooden parts facilitate plank-on-bulkhead construction. Fittings consist of hardwood blocks and deadeyes, pre-carved wooden lifeboat, cast metal gunport frames, mast caps, hoops, cleats and chainplates. In the tradition of the Royal ships of the period, gilded metal ornamentation is intricately detailed and plentiful. Five sheets of plans and illustrated instructions pave the way to a magnificent model.
