Focal Car Audio PS165F3E - 6.5" 3-way Component Speaker System with Flax cone Technology (PAIR)

The speaker drivers from the PS 165 F3E kit combine the best of Flax technology with the latest Focal innovations to deliver one of the most natural sounds. 

The TMD surround (Tuned Mass Damper) is incorporated in the woofers and midranges to stabilise the surround and achieve better control, neutrality and linearity: the bass is even denser, the performance in the top midrange is improved and harmonic distortion reduced. Combined, these speaker drivers create a precise, powerful sound without colouration.

The ‘M’-profile inverted dome TAM tweeters included in the kit offer a wider diffusion angle and greater sound definition, without directional. Thanks to their tilted mounting, they are easy to install in the vehicle.

An audiophile crossover completes the kit, offering several adjustment levels for the tweeters and midranges. Finally, with its engraved aluminium basket and meticulous finishes, PS 165 F3E combines style, discretion and modernity for a premium system.

Component Design
Component speakers offer higher quality sound than their coaxial counterparts. The tweeter mounted to the dash or A-pillar allows higher end frequencies (high notes) to be distributed out.

Flax Cone and Rubber surround
After more than five years of research and development, engineers at Focal reveal in 2013 a new cone made of high-quality flax fibers. F cone are characterised by their natural sound, with low coloration, their richness of reproduction in the midrange register and their tighter bass.

High Power
These speakers allow up to 80W RMS to each speaker and 160W peak power. Which is VERY good for a 16.5cm speaker. These speakers can be run on your headunit or via a separate amplifier. Due to the nature of these speakers, they will benefit massively from an amplifier. Running them on a headunit runs the risk of under powering them.
