The Fischer & Fischer Klein is a very high-quality compact bookshelf loudspeaker which has frankly shocked audiophiles with its ability to produce an expansive soundstage with an abundance of detail, energy and lifelike tonality. Traditionally, when faced with a speaker of such modest physical proportions, people expect certain limitations in the sound, in particular with bass and scale.
By using a pure slate cabinet and careful driver selection, Fischer and Fischer have been able to optimise the ability of a compact bookshelf speaker to the degree that this speaker sounds ‘big’. When demonstrating this speaker, often people line up a number of speakers and ask the listener to choose which speaker is playing. They almost always choose the large floor stander and when it is revealed that in fact it was the Klein, the listeners are shocked.
This is a seriously good loudspeaker in the reference category. The engineering and build quality is heirloom and the sound is natural and conveys a sense of realism that is rare at this price point. For people with space restrictions or for those who simply to not want to see a large loudspeaker dominating their space yet still want to experience supreme sound quality, the Klein is a gift from the Gods.
