De Hollowbody II Piezo is een illustere gitaar in de toch al indrukwekkende line-up van Paul Reed Smith. Deze gitaar biedt een extreem uitgebreid pallet aan sounds en is daarom een geliefd PRS model. Dankzij de maple top en achterkant in combinatie met de mahonie zijkanten levert deze PRS Hollowbody II Piezo Platinum in akoestisch opzicht al een enorme helderheid, definitie en ongekende resonantie. En de manier waarop deze akoestische kwaliteit wordt vertaald en uitversterkt is echt something else. Allereerst door de 58/15LT pickups, PRS' antwoord op de PAF pickups uit de jaren '50 met hun mellow output en prachtige, ronde doch gedefinieerde toon. En dan het LR Baggs / PRS Piezo systeem.. Als je deze twee namen samen ziet staan dan weet je al dat kwaliteit gewaarborgd is. Dit piezo systeem behoort naar onze bescheiden mening tot de allerbeste van dit moment want de manier waarop de dynamiek in je aanslag, de akoestische kwaliteit van het hout en de sprankeling van je snaren worden vertaald is adembenemend. En dankzij het comfort van twee afzonderlijke outputs kun je het signaal van 58/15LT humbuckers naar je elektrische gitaarversterker sturen en het Piezo signaal naar een D.I. of aparte akoestische amp. Door middel van de Blend control kun je er ook voor kiezen om een gemixt signaal uit te sturen door de Mix/Mag uitgang. Zo kun je dus alle kanten op! Deze beauty wordt geleverd inclusief PRS hardcase.
