Reliable 15A 240V Power Inlet for Caravans, RVs, and Temporary Site Installations

Engineered for Safe, Weather-Resistant Outdoor Power Connections

The Transco 15A Black Caravan Power Inlet provides a secure and durable connection point for 240V AC power in mobile and semi-permanent outdoor settings. Designed to meet the demands of Australian conditions, this recessed inlet is built from impact-resistant polycarbonate and rated IP54, offering effective protection against dust ingress and water splashes. Whether you are upgrading a caravan, motorhome, camper trailer, or setting up power for a temporary site structure, this inlet ensures a consistent and safe electrical interface.

Unlike standard household fittings, this inlet is purpose-built for recreational vehicle and outdoor use. The robust polycarbonate body resists cracking and UV degradation, while the integrated sealing gasket and rear connection shroud simplify installation and help prevent moisture from reaching internal wiring. The flat earth pin configuration and screw-type copper ferrule terminals provide a reliable, low-resistance connection suited to the vibration and movement typical of mobile applications.

Key Features

  • 15A, 240V AC rating for high-demand appliances and site equipment
  • IP54 weatherproof rating protects against dust and splashing water
  • Impact-resistant polycarbonate construction withstands harsh outdoor environments
  • Recessed mounting design with 70mm x 54mm centres for a flush, low-profile fit
  • Includes sealing gasket and rear shroud to minimise moisture ingress during installation
  • 3-pin configuration with flat earth for compatibility with Australian 15A extension leads
  • Australian approved (N26556) for assured safety and compliance

Built for Australian Conditions

Outdoor electrical connections face constant exposure to UV, temperature swings, and moisture. The Transco inlet's polycarbonate housing is formulated to resist yellowing and brittleness over time, maintaining both appearance and structural integrity. The IP54 rating means the inlet is protected against limited dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for exterior walls of caravans, RVs, and site sheds. The protective flap covers the terminals when not in use, reducing the risk of contamination and accidental contact.

Simplified Installation and Secure Wiring

Mounting the inlet is straightforward with four pre-drilled holes on 70mm x 54mm centres. The recessed design allows the inlet to sit nearly flush with the mounting surface, reducing the risk of snagging or impact damage. Inside, screw-type copper ferrule terminals accept wiring up to 4mm², providing a secure, gas-tight connection that resists loosening under vibration. The rear connection shroud adds an extra layer of protection, helping to prevent insulation wear and short circuits where the cable enters the enclosure.

Versatile Applications

This 15A inlet is ideal for a wide range of outdoor power needs:

  • Caravans, camper trailers, and motorhomes requiring a reliable 240V shore power connection
  • Temporary site structures, portable offices, and event setups needing safe external power access
  • Marine and boating applications where a weather-resistant AC inlet is essential
  • DIY off-grid cabins or sheds with generator or grid backup power input

By choosing an inlet with full Australian approvals, you reduce the risk of non-compliance and potential insurance issues. The Transco 15A Black Caravan Power Inlet is a practical, long-lasting solution for anyone needing a dependable outdoor power connection.

Great quality wire for any automotive or 12 volt wiring
Size: 16 AWG-100 ft
This GS Power 16 gauge wire is excellent quality for any automotive wiring project. The copper is true OFC pure copper, not copper clad aluminum. It’s flexible, easy to route, and holds up well without the insulation feeling cheap or brittle. I have used it for automotive accessory wiring and some 12V equipment projects and it handled everything perfectly. The wire pulls cleanly, solders well, and the insulation thickness gives it a durable feel without being overly bulky. If you need dependable wire for automotive, marine, RV, audio, or general electrical projects, this is a great buy. I would absolutely purchase it again.

Not the sorry copper coated aluminum.
Size: 16 AWG-100 ft
The wire is 16 gauge plenty big for my system. Heck, the wires supplied with my stereo, copomonet speakers, and amplifiers are about 20 or 24 gauge. I'm quite sure the wire will be more than suffeceint. I, m installing a mono sub amplifier a four-way amplifier to the sub amp outputs and the front of lines of the stereo. I'm gonna be pushing 20 speakers all except the sub woofer only pushing 100 watts a channel and the sub will push 150 watts. That makes 21 altogether. Not much just good clean sound. I've been working on the project going on 5 years now. Been bargain hunting, besides the work I've only got about $650 in the project. Can't wait to get it completed here around the end of July. Hopefully, it will sound great didn't want to pay anyone. Seen too many "professional" jobs that were subpar. I've seen some nightmares. Figured if l did the job then who could I blame at least I can only blame myself and didn't pay $1,000 for it. 😁🤔
