Venus was a Roman goddess principally
associated with love, beauty and fertility, who played a key role in many Roman
religious festivals and myths. From the third century BC, the increasing
Hellenization of Roman upper classes identified her as the equivalent of the
Greek goddess Aphrodite.

Her cult began in Ardea and Lavinium, Latium. On August 15, 293 BC, her oldest
known temple was dedicated, and August 18 became a festival called the Vinalia
Rustica. After Rome's defeat at the Battle of Lake Trasimene in the opening
episodes of the Second Punic War, the Sibylline oracle recommended the
importation of the Sicillian Venus of Eryx; a temple to her was dedicated on the
Capitoline Hill in 217 BC: a second temple to her was dedicated in 181 BC.

Venus seems to have played a part in household or private religion of some
Romans. Julius Caesar claimed her as an ancestor (Venus Genetrix); possibly a
long-standing family tradition, certainly one adopted as such by his heir
Augustus. Venus statuettes have been found in quite ordinary household shrines (lararia).
In fiction, Petronius places one among the Lares of the freedman Trimalchio's
household shrine.

Julia Cornelia Salonina (d. 268, Mediolanum
) was an Augusta , wife of Roman Emperor Gallienus and mother of Valerian II ,
Saloninus , and Marinianus .

Julia Cornelia Salonina's origin is unknown. According to a modern theory, she
was born of Greek origin in Bithynia , then part of the province of Bithynia et
Pontus , Asia Minor . However, there exists some scepticism on that. She was
married to Gallienus about ten years before his accession to the throne. When
her husband became joint-emperor with his father Valerian in 253, Cornelia
Salonina was named Augusta.

Cornelia was the mother of three princes, Valerian II , Saloninus and Marinianus
. Her fate , a fter the murder of Gallienus, during the siege of Mediolanum in
268, is unknown. It is likely that either her life was spared or the she was
executed together with other members of her family, at the orders of the Senate
of Rome.

Her name is reported on coins with Latin legend as Cornelia Salonina; however,
from the Greek coinage come the names Iulia Cornelia Salonina, Publia Licinia
Cornelia Salonina, and Salonina Chrysogona (attribute that means "begotten of
gold").

Good watch, nice large numbers.
Color: Black
Nice watch. Not illuminated, but luminous hands and dial are easy to read at night. Day/date display is easy to adjust but must avoid doing so between 5PM and 9AM. Seems to be very accurate so far and time is fairly easy to synchronize. No problems with scratched crystal so far, and I wear this watch 24/7. Very long band should fit any size wrist.

POS
Color: Silver
Its just junk.. Quit working within 3 months of purchase. Took it apart and nothing looked bad, put in a new battery and still nothing. I didn't expect much considering the price, but you're practically throwing money in the trash buying this. Costumer service is non-existent if you're looking for a replacement. Amazon will always give money back with a returned item.

Most satisfying purchase in years!
Color: Silver
I bought this watch as part of the Black Thursday Deals. I didn't expect much frankly, but I've been mightily impressed by its quality and utility. As a timepiece and as an accessory, this is a great buy. The face is easy to read, the second-hand sweeps exactly on the second marks (a rarity these days in even fairly expensive watches) and it keeps good time (one second per day fast so far). The day/date are a good size and pretty easy to set using the industry standard crown-pull method. The brushed aluminum case appears durable and yet it's comfortable. The strap is thin but of good quality; it has 13 holes and will fit a wide variety of wrist sizes. Overall, I'm totally satisfied and have no hesitation in highly recommending this outstanding watch.

Solid, if basic, cheap watch.
Color: Black
This is a solid, if basic, quartz watch. It keeps good time, and the NATO strap is comfortable. Though some have had complaints about it's waterproof rating, I've had no issues with that. But... The lume (glow-in-the-dark) is pretty weak and doesn't last long. I expected that, but it actually bothers me more than I thought it would. The date window is small and hard to read; which is fine because a month after I got it, it lost the ability to change the date (April has 30 days, but I can't skip over the 31st to the 1st) If I cared about the date function, that would be a deal breaker.

What time is it? Time to buy this watch!
Color: Blue
This is a great watch at an unbelievable price. You get quality materials, durable construction, reliability and style, all for a great price. I wear this watch more than my others, and I have quite a few, but this one has that "it" factor. I get a lot of compliments on it and love the aesthetic. It keeps time well and has a pretty long battery life. The fit is also great too since it very adjustable.
