Your secondary pump cools the transmission cooler, EGR on some years, and intercooler. While not a common failure, you'll see an increase in either EGR temps, intercooler or transmission temperatures. The pump is an aluminum cast case with iron impeller designed to install just like the factory part. The pump is only the pump, not the entire housing, so you'll have to remove the pulley, and replace the gasket between the housing and pump (included). Good finish, poor hardware.
Set screws are poor quality and are sometimes powdercoated on the exposed threads. Leads to striped hex sockets and inability to tighten properly.
Durable finish as evidenced by no visible damage after throwing parts across the shop in frustration.
Ended up running self tapping screws thru parts to complete assembly.
