Our custom-spun single-ply merino is grown on small farms in the Rockies and milled in North Carolina. The yarn is hand-dyed at our studio in North Adams with acid dyes using processes that are gentle to the environment. The yarn is untreated so it must be washed by hand or it will felt. Though a single you will find it strong as our dyeing process very gently felts the yarn making it durable enough to handle the maneuvering of cables, lace and of course, tinking. I’ve been getting into more natural skincare lately, especially beef tallow products, so I wanted to try a sunscreen like this. I like that it uses tallow along with zinc oxide for protection.
The texture is smooth and not overly greasy, and it blends in better than I expected for a mineral sunscreen. It leaves my skin feeling moisturized. I’ve used it on both my face and body, and it feels comfortable throughout the day.
It’s also been good with my daughter’s skin, even though she has skin problems, which has been a big plus for us.
