Panel liners are used to highlight volumes and define the different fuselage plates, panels, and details on aeroplanes, tanks, trains, cars, ships, robots, and more. All models share the common feature of structures and details outlined by lines, either raised or recessed. To achieve greater realism and visual richness, these features must be carefully accentuated after painting by adding depth and visual contrast.
AK Interactive’s precision panel liners are enamel-based and formulated to flow smoothly by capillary action into fine details without staining or spreading over large areas. This makes them ideal for enhancing panel lines, rivets, and structural elements with precision and control. The enamel composition eliminates the surface tension often encountered with acrylic products, allowing for better flow and coverage in recessed areas.
Each bottle includes a highly pointed brush with longer, fewer fibres than standard brushes. This allows the brush to hold more paint and deliver it evenly in a single pass. The fine tip helps the paint follow detail lines and settle into recesses without overspill, resulting in a cleaner finish and more defined features. The Fresh Rust tone is particularly effective for simulating light oxidisation on metal surfaces, making it a valuable tool for weathering and realism in scale modelling.
