With an 8.3cm king, these Staunton chess pieces are the largest of our Down Head Series chessmen. Crafted from selected boxwood and sheesham, this set is of remarkable quality and detail for the price it's sold here at Regency Chess.
All of the chessmen are of 'one-piece' construction and are single-weighted with generous felting on their bases. Despite their modest price, these pieces are made from solid sheesham wood in the same way that a number of our luxury products are. Each piece has been hand-polished to a medium-gloss finish, ensuring the wood lasts for generations, rather than just a few years.
The natural finish will age the wood beautifully as the years go by, further showing in time the quality of materials used to make these chess pieces.
This series is also available in smaller sizes of 7.6cm and 6.3cm.
