Prepare slow-cooked, flavour-rich meals with the ABS Pottery Tagine, a traditional terracotta cooking vessel designed for both cooking and serving. Inspired by North African culinary methods, this tagine combines functionality with rustic design, making it suitable for everyday cooking as well as presentation at the table.
Crafted from natural terracotta, this tagine is known for its excellent heat retention and even heat distribution, allowing food to cook gently and develop deep flavours. The conical lid helps circulate steam during cooking, returning moisture to the dish and keeping ingredients tender.
Designed for versatility, the tagine is suitable for use on gas and electric hobs, open fires, BBQs, and in all types of ovens, including Agas. It can withstand temperatures up to approximately 250°C, making it a reliable option for a wide range of cooking methods.
The tagine is dishwasher safe and easy to maintain, with a virtually non-stick surface when properly seasoned. Before first use, it should be soaked in warm water for around 10 minutes to prepare the terracotta and improve performance over time.
