Building on the proven foundation of the Evolution R, the R Salt supercharges the platform with an industry-leading 16-disc sealed drag system comprised of stainless steel and carbon fluoropolymer discs, producing nearly 30 pounds of drag pressure. That is stopping power capable of turning tarpon, GT, permit, and the most powerful saltwater species on the planet. All internal components are machined stainless steel and finished with a special coating engineered specifically for saltwater durability — because corrosion is never an option when you're deep in the flats.

An industry first, the R Salt features two smaller counterbalances on the spool that reduce mass and create perfect, vibration-free performance even when line is being ripped off the spool at full speed on long blistering runs. Starting at just 7.5 ounces and fully machined from proprietary 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, the R Salt delivers this exceptional braking power in a lightweight yet incredibly strong frame.
