Pilot brings its celebrated retractable design to a richly figured acrylic in the Vanishing Point SE Fountain Pen in Marble Blue. Luminous ribbons of blue and pearlescent white swirl through the resin body, setting a refined stage for the brand's signature one-handed operation and an 18k gold nib that vanishes safely inside the pen between notes.

Craftsmanship & Design

The SE series pairs the Vanishing Point's precision engineering with a marbled resin that ensures no two pens look exactly alike. Cool-toned rhodium-plated accents frame the material without overpowering it, while the low-profile clip anchors the pen securely in a pocket and establishes a natural grip reference. A push-button mechanism actuates the nib with a clean, satisfying click, and an internal sealing shutter protects the tip from drying and ink transfer when retracted.

Writing Experience

Pilot's 18k gold nib is renowned for consistent starts, smooth feel, and excellent flow control across a range of papers. Available in extra fine through broad as well as a stub option, it offers both daily-writing precision and expressive line variation. The modular nib unit design allows enthusiasts to swap sizes with ease, tailoring the pen to changing projects or preferences. Combined with the Vanishing Point's balanced posture and controlled nib geometry, the result is an effortless, dependable hand.

Brand Heritage

Introduced in 1963 as the Capless, Pilot's retractable fountain pen has been refined over decades into the modern Vanishing Point. The SE iteration builds on that legacy with contemporary materials and finishing, while preserving the core virtues that made the design an icon: reliable sealing, intuitive operation, and a gold nib developed in Japan's longstanding tradition of precision writing instruments.

Actually Durable
Color: B) Medium 3" Ball
One of the few "heavy duty" toys that my pittie hasn't destroyed after a couple of weeks. Most of them last two days. She's an absolute beast so I'm confident if she can't destroy it, few dogs can.

Not for aggressive chewers!
Color: H) Infinity Ring, Color: H) Infinity Ring
Not for aggressive chewers! Done for in about two minutes. I unboxed this and tugged with my Mal for a but then let her have it. Within minutes she had chewed through it. Not worth the money.

Not Quite So Durable...
Color: B) Medium 3" Ball, Color: B) Medium 3" Ball
Maybe I have a SUPER aggressive chewer...he went through this ball in under a week. I originally bought the ball because of a review that stated the owner's Pitbull had the same ball for two years; not so much for my Rottweiler. He started chewing off and swallowing small crumbs from the ball within a day or two. By the end of the week, it was chunks so I had to toss it in the trash to prevent an intestinal obstruction. On the up side, my Rottweiler LOVED the ball while it lasted. However, I can't, in good conscience, give this ball a rave review based on this experience. Please take this review with a grain of salt as I have yet to find ANY toy that my boy won't DESTROY in a week or two. I hope that someone finds this informative when searching for chew toys for SUPER aggressive chewers like mine.
