The SME 3012-R is a 12-inch tonearm manufactured by SME (Scale Model Equipment Co.) in the UK. It is part of the 3000 Series tonearms and is designed for use with turntables requiring a separate tonearm assembly.

The arm features a detachable headshell system, allowing compatibility with a wide range of phono cartridges. It is constructed as a standalone tonearm unit for installation into suitable plinths and turntable systems.

The 3012-R represents a later version of the 3000 Series, produced during the late 1970s through the 1980s, and is configured as a 12-inch arm for use in analog playback setups.


Condition:

  • This is a used unit.

  • Physically this unit is in good condition for its age. It shows some sign of light wear from use and age like some light surface oxidisation. Overall it is still a nice piece.

  • This sale includes a SME wiring loom. This also shows some general signs of age, but nothing major. Please see photos.

  • This tone arm has been tested and is working very well!

  • The 3012-R is definitely for people who are experienced with turntables and setting up tone arms. This is because this unit is delicate and require fine precision to set up. We will not be able to remotely help with set up or installation. So please ensure you are confident before purchase or have a technician who can install it for you. (If you are able to visit our store in West Gosford, NSW we could help with set up)

  • This sale is for the tonearm and cable pictured. Nothing else is included in this sale.

His back ripped open and despite trying to repair him with ordinary thread he couldn't withstand the pressure, His stuffing was removed and spread all over the living room. Completely emptied he is still a good toy. Strong enough to withstand the forceful play of tug-o-war. Only thing I would suggest is to use something stronger when closing his back. The rest of him is great. I will be replacing him soon.

I bought this because I dog sit. The dog chews up every. Single. Toy. So I bought it since it was cheap and it can be in the “chunk” (the dog’s name) toy box. It is not durable at all. He tore it up just as fast as a cheaply made toy. Chunk LOVES it! He would not stop playing with it. However, it is the perfect size to drop behind the couch and not be able to get. So once he drops it behind the couch, he won’t get it until morning. Now for my dog’s rating. My dog loves this toy too. He is much more gentle with toys (he has $5 Walmart toys we bought him back in 2020 in perfect condition that he plays with them every day). Before Chunk came over for the weekend, my dog Ted played with this. Ted is a larger small dog and chunk is a smaller small dog. And it is still the perfect size for both dogs.
