Built on a solid wood core with Volkl's Tailored Titanal Frame and Carbon Tips, the tech built into the Mantra series is top tier. The combination of these two technologies allows Volkl to take a bit of the weight of titanal out, and replace it with carbon to provide stiffness and stability through the tip.
The Mantra 88 sports Volkl's 3D Radius sidecut, blending 3 distinct radii into the sidecut of the ski. This allows Volkl to fine tune each skis willingness to make different turn shapes. The Mantra 88 is one of the skis in which we could really feel the difference of each part of the ski throughout the turn. It rewards athletic skiing with a tight and energetic radius underfoot, whilst remaining really calm in the tip and tail at lower speeds and lower edge angles.
