For high school we recommend reading The Red Badge of Courage in place of Rifles for Watie.From British Imperialism to the American Civil War to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Modern Times level two is a complete one-year curriculum guide that combines history with literature, world geography, and writing activities. Students study events from modern times history, a time of imperialism, nationalism, manifest destiny, and technology. And it was a time of world war and attention to human rights. This comprehensive course covers success and failures of civilizations in modern history from all parts of the world.
Modern Times level two is a student guide that provides step by step lessons to teach world history from 1850 to 2000. Level 2 History Odyssey guides are written to be used independently by students with the parent/teacher assisting when necessary with lessons and assessing the student's completed work. Modern Times level two does not require an answer key due to the subjectivity of the assignments that encourage critical thinking (i.e. there is rarely any one correct answer).**Answer keys to map work are found in the main spine (The Kingfisher History Encyclopedia).Rubrics are provided to assist in grading essay and research paper writing.

Cute read
Format: Kindle
This is a shorter book about a fox shifter who is mute but has telepathy for those she establishes a close emotional bond with. She leaves a rather cold home when she turns 18 and takes a train across country, running into one of her mates on a bus. It's a fated mates book, there's instant attraction but it takes a little while to give into the feelings. It's a fairly low spice level, more like a sweet palate cleanser. It's a standalone but there will be more books set in the same town.

So much feelings!

Collette was not voiceless in the least and to say she is by far my fave FMC of all time right now it's no understatement. Best 1st read of the year ever!! I love how possessive each of her men were and OMG Lena is the best BFF and girl could ask for! I'm pretty sure I need this gorgeous book on my shelf pronto!

Great start

I loved this book! It's funny but still deals with tough themes, like chronic illness, a serial killer on the loose, and a dash of self-harm. The guys are interesting and distinct, we don't know too much about them yet. It does end on a really terrible cliffhanger but on the bright side the next book is out and I believe the series is complete. I have enjoyed both of these authors separately and this is a great team up!

Fudge!

Titles aren’t my strong suit. Sorry not sorry.
That ending has me completely frustrated book two isn’t out yet. Just throwing that out there.
First thing first, this is a high school book where the lead is under 18. Yea yea she’s about month from being an adult, but I can’t say I would’ve even opened the file if I’d realized. It’s not a smut fest or anything, but there is sexual tension as each party figures out their emotions.
That being said, it’s a good book. There are some troubling parts, like how the supes come into their powers at 13, but most of those are dealt with in a way that makes sense. Kian is the exception. His whole arc pisses me off, especially since no one stepped in. Reflecting back on real world situations, ten or so years ago, I can see it happening, but it still makes me sick. Which, I’m sure was the whole damn point.
For the most part, Courting Darkness is a fun read. I found myself laughing along with most of the set up. By the time it started getting serious, I’d grown to like the characters enough it held an impact.
I’ll be adding book two to my list for when it comes out.
