This compendious book – crowdsourced from the feminist productivity badasses of Bullish and curated by staff – is the perfect place to find bullish advice, tips and tricks on life, relationships, work and making the world a better place. Our Bullish readers had plenty to say when it came to ways to live a more gentlewomanly life.

With a foreword by Jennifer Dziura, the ebook contains 167 pages, and countless tips and tricks.

Some of our favorites include:

On How to Dress for Work:

"Figure out where in your town affluent women who leave professional jobs to become stay-at-home moms live. Go to the thrift stores in that part of town for your professional work wardrobe.” - Alex M., 27, Washington, DC, Editor

On Getting Hired:

“When you go to the interview, pretend that you already work there and these people just want to talk to you about a project they want to pull you onto, because they want your skills. This will give you the calm, confident, friendly energy you need to come across well.”- Meg A., 36, Washington DC, International Development

“I bring a binder with lots of tabs. Anything I can print out on the company or the job. My writing samples, extra copies of my resume, whatever. People lose their shit, they love binders with tabs.”- Maggie S., 37, Little Rock, Lawyer

On Getting People To Do What You Want:

“The best email tip I ever got was that if someone doesn't respond to an email, simply copy and resend it word-for-word, with no note or anything, as if the original email had never been sent. So far I have always gotten immediate replies (& apologies), perhaps because it is such a bizarre thing to do. Much more effective and less humiliating than writing a separate, "Hey,... just wondering if you ever got my email….?””- Katie L., 31, Freelance editor

Take a cue from the improv "yes and” philosophy. If you start with "yes and" ("you're right and" also works) you can finish the sentence with the complete opposite of what they said and people feel appreciated. Note this works better when you also actually appreciate them.” - Kate I., 33, Director

On Negotiating:

Be willing to walk away. You cannot be desperate. You just can't. Which is so hard because sometimes you ARE DESPERATE. Seriously though, have a walking away plan. Even if it is crazy like living in the woods. Just hold it in your heart. "I would rather live in the woods than get pushed around." Find strength in that. - Carlee N., 25, Kirkland, Problem Crusher

Great price with good quality - Just be prepared to iron it.
Fit Type: Slim Fit, Color: Grey, Size: X-Large
Nice shirt, especially for the price. You will need to iron it to get the wrinkles out, as I have a professional steamer, and it still looks unfinished even when using it. If you iron and starch it, it will look very nice, and it does not wrinkle as badly as I thought it would. The fit is perfect, and the softness, color, and feel are nice as well. This shirt can go from casual to dress right out of the closet (ironed, of course).

Count on shrinkage when choosing your size.
Fit Type: Slim Fit, Color: White, Size: X-Large
I bought this shirt earlier and got an XL. It came and it fit perfectly. Couldn't believe it, but then I wondered what it would look like after one washing. It shrank. Not so bad that I couldn't wear it, but it no longer looked "perfect" and I I don't dare put on 5 pounds. But I liked the shirt overall, so I went back and ordered another, this time an XXL. It came, I tried it on and while it worked, it was slightly larger than I wanted. Instead of returning it, I washed it, and like the first, it shrunk, but it shrunk to a size that looked good and was comfortable. Lesson: you might want to go one size larger than you would ordinarily get, wear it to see how it fits, and if it seems too large, wash it and see if it makes a difference. The first shirt I would give 4 stars because shrinkage took away from it, but I'd give the second 5 stars because even more so after washing, the fit was very nice.

Good concept, details need some work.
Fit Type: Slim Fit, Color: Grey, Size: Small
Let's start with the positives. The quality of the cloth is great, it's a heavier cotton, but feels soft and durable. The overall slim fit cut was great too. The shoulders were a tiny bit too boxy for me personally, but I didn't wash it to see if the shirt would shrink and solve that issue. The problem with this shirt is that it doesn't get the details right. It's almost like they just took a regular shirt and decided to produce it in a slim fit instead, without tweaking anything else. It's slightly too long to be left untucked, and for a cloth this heavy, it's not really something that you would really want to wear tucked in. I also find it weird that a slim fit shirt would have a box pleat on the back, since the whole point of a slim fit shirt is for a cleaner look on a trimmer guy. Finally, I like the button-down collar, but would consider hiding the buttons on the back of the collar so that you get a cleaner look. Unfortunately, these misses on the details make this shirt seem outdated. Other than the slim cut, it reminds me of something you might see from the 1990s, along with double pleated chinos. Overall, doesn't seem like a good match for a younger, more stylish demographic that might want to wear a slim fit cut. Despite the great price, I'm definitely returning this one.
