When Pool or Hot tub pH or alkalinity is too low it can be detrimental to disinfection, pool equipment and bather comfort.  We recommended that you first get the total alkalinity (TA) of your pool or spa correct, which will then allow you to set the pH and disinfectant levels much more easily. Note: When using active oxygen treatments like PoolSan Regenerator, we advise that you only use this product to increase pH if your total alkalinity is high or in range because this product will “eat” your active oxygen causing the active oxygen level to drop. This will in turn cause you to needlessly use more of both products.  So when using active oxygen treatments it is better to use TA Plus alkalinity increaser to increase pH as well as alkalinity.
