Who is Yusuke Urameshi?

The main protagonist of the manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi, and its anime adaptation, Yu Yu Hakusho, Yusuke Urameshi is a Spirit Detective tasked with protecting the Human World, his closest friends, and key allies from various supernatural threats. Growing up in a neglectful environment, Yusuke became an unruly street-fighting delinquent, devoid of morals or virtues. After dying while saving a child from being hit by a car, Yusuke, now a ghost, is greeted by an unconventional Grim Reaper: a cheerful and bubbly young woman named Botan. She informs Yusuke that his death was unexpected by the Spirit World since no one anticipated he would risk his life to save the child. Given a chance to return to life, he must prove himself to be genuinely good, or face being devoured by the Beast. Thus begins his journey as a Spirit Detective, hunting rogue demons who threaten Earth’s peace and leading Team Urameshi, a group of fighters, psychics, and spirits who join Yusuke and his friends throughout the series. Over time, Yusuke transforms into a better person, ultimately becoming a near-altruistic defender of the Human World.

With superhuman strength, enhanced speed, agility, and endurance, the young supernatural detective leans back as he performs his signature move, the Spirit Gun, where he channels all his spiritual energy into his fingertip, firing a blue energy beam at his enemies like a gun. Though a master of long-range projectile techniques that annihilate foes from afar, he still enjoys a good brawl and often prefers fighting with his fists. Standing on a base of jagged rocks emerging beneath his feet, wearing a sleeveless yellow shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, a black karate belt, and green wristbands, Iron Studios proudly presents the first character in one of its newest series: "Yusuke Urameshi - Yu Yu Hakusho - Art Scale 1/10", expanding its lineup of statues inspired by global hits from Japanese pop culture, including anime, manga, tokusatsu, and cinema.
