Gregarious Grump 30 Year Cognac is a deeply mature, long-aged Cognac that moves firmly into the savory, rancio-driven side of the category while still holding onto impressive freshness and balance. After three decades in barrel, the spirit develops the layered complexity and polished texture that only extended aging can bring.

The nose is expressive and evolving with aromas of dried fig, prune, orange oil, walnut, cedar, pipe tobacco, dark honey, cocoa, and antique wood. With time in the glass, more lifted notes of candied citrus, baking spice, black tea, and leather begin to emerge. The palate is concentrated and silky with flavors of caramelized orchard fruit, roasted nuts, espresso, spice cake, and subtle earthy rancio unfolding gradually across a long finish.

Despite the age, the oak remains integrated rather than dominant. There’s still enough fruit and acidity to keep the Cognac lively, preventing the heavier oxidative notes from taking over. The texture is especially impressive here: dense and coating without feeling overly heavy.
